2013 NHL Thread

Supposedly Kessel was saying shit to him like he would fight too, so Scott got hustled like a big dummy but whatever, Toronto's gay so I was fine with that

I'm pretty sure that Kessel told him to stop goofing around. Kessel is not going to fight and he's not a fighter, the only reason he fought the other guy is because he jumped on Kessel.

Thomas Vanek traded to the New York Islanders for Matt Moulson and 2 draft picks.

To be honest I am really surprised by the Islanders letting Moulson go. I'm baffled.

Good trade for both right now. Doesnt seem like intentions are there for Vanek to sign and stay with the Isles. Given the high draft picks in return, could work out very nicely for Buff in the end.

There were a lot rumors that they didn't view him as a core piece, and that they were interested in moving him, which they did.

I find that hard to believe, he's a proven 30+ goal scorer.

Although, I think this may be a rental deal.

Once the season ends both players are UFA's if Vanek resigns with the Isles after the season is over and Moulson is still on the market with the Sabres not signing him, I wouldn't be surprised if Moulson went back to the Islanders.

Really, the Sabres would get what they wanted. 2 High Draft Picks for this year and next year (1 each year). The rebuild is in total motion.

And if they finish completely at the bottom, Connor McDavid would be a perfect fit for the Sabres as their first overall pick.

Sadly McDavid is 2015, so we are looking for Reinhart or that Nylander guy, need some forwards, we shall see where we end up. We got draft picks up the ass right now and hopefully can move about 3-5 more players, just gotta wait through this bad time.

During the tele, just saw the numbers for the size(s) of the active D-men on the TB bolts. My fuzzy math came up with a 6'-5" - 223lbs. ave. Thats impressive in a way, but isnt todays D-man becoming smaller puck moving types?

Actually, the Islanders have the choice of changing the pick to a 2015 if they finish in the bottom ten. But Highly unlikely they do, i'm pretty sure everyone is going to keep their 1st round pick in 2015 just in case lol.

I'm not a fan of the Blues but wouldn't mind to see them win the cup. Solid team with no player that's really standing out. They're all good and work together to the win.

You can't expect Steen to keep this pace, and Roy doing so well on the 3rd line too, Halak is already putting up marginal #'s in the net so hopefully they make the big trade for Miller and you guys make a deep run to the playoffs
