a couple bands i feel deserve more respect...

i feel the following bands arnt mentioned enough or recommended to others enough out in the metal world, this is the best death metal ive ever heard..

Atheist, Decapitated, Suffocation, Necrophagist and Bathory (black metal)

keep in mind this is strictly opinion based upon the number of times these names have come up either on the internet or general death/black metal conversations ive had with other people....this obviously will be different depending on where you live or who you hang out with because everyone has their own taste and roots in terms of metal

I believe they are respected on this board.

Bathory is probably the most popular band on UM, disregarding maybe Iron Maiden and that lot, I'd say.
Atheist is well-respected here too, and personally I nearly idolise the members of Necrophagist for their pure skill.

I think it's the general consensus that Suffocation is one of the top 5 DM bands around.

All the bands you metioned are held in high repspect in here.

Not a huge fan of Decapitated and Suffocation but the others kick ass.

even I - a big fan - can admit that Bathory (even the black metal era) is respected pretty highly around here

Atheist, Suffo, and Bathory are held in the highest esteem here. I think you're a bit off base. Even outside of UM, those are among the most popular DM bands.
