thoughts?
only a couple of heavy songs thought they would have abit more as of the first video dairy.
but i am enjoying it

I always thought A Day To Remember was horrible at writing heavy songs.
Thats the reason I loved Homesick- There weren't many heavy songs.
There are even fewer heavy songs on the new album
I love it. A Day To Remember in my opinion is FAR better as a pop-punk band than they are a Hardcore band.
Favorite song is "Better Off This Way."

not a fan of it... too popy for me. 2nd sucks is the only real heavy/good song on the album!

haha i heard chris from dwp co-write homesick
yea they pull off the pop real well, i really enjoy for those who have alot most still, newer stuff is alot more commercial, but i still thoroughly dig it

Apart from the vocals its really not much to write about. He is an amazing vocalist, i'm amazed by his range. Guitar tone sounds so pathetic, kinda like When Everything Falls by Haste the Day guitars (which is an album I love, but from before I looked so closely at production). Kick drum is weak as well. Still love the band, they are so good at what they do and I cant wait to see them next month!

i don't hate it
i don't love it

but i get bummed out because there isn't shit for singalongs go back to being for those who have heart

^^That's really normal, Dan Korneff is Bendeth's assistant, and sets up all the mixes. Most bands can't afford Bendeth mixing every song on the album, so they get him to mix the singles and Dan covers the rest. Same happened with Emery, actually.

thanks for the info Jeff!!!
Didnt know that.

The difference is sooo big!!!
First track Korneff second and third by Bendeth.

First thing I noticed:
Bendeth mixes has a present bass, you realy hear it as an individual instrument.
Much more impact on the drums.
Guitars are sitting better.

IIRC, Korneff mixes mainly ITB, as well, whereas Bendeth is almost entirely OTB.

I can tell you fellas right now that Korneff is a monster and the majority of it, from what I have seen, is outboard. In fact, he has built much of the outboard in studio A. ;)

Ahhh ok, go figure! I was going by a post on the other thread:

two different mixers on these two songs..... one in the box, one not.

Figured the one by Bendeth would be the OTB one, but maybe I'm wrong?

Would love any kind of detail about their workflow(s) - All I can gather so far is that it's Nuendo (tracking in 96k?) and I've heard that it's mostly outboard over plugins, but details/pictures on the House of Loud are quite limited!

It's possible that they change it up from time to time and I'm not there for each mix session, but I've done many a recall with good old pencil and paper for the outboard gear. ;)

Hit me up in aim sometime if you can, Jeff. PM me your sn!

this mix blows large donkey dick. whoever mixed their b side "right where you want me to be" should have mixed this new album.
