Absolutely 100% PERFECT albums...

I've have a few full albums that are perfect in my eyes...

Opeth - 'My Arms Your Hearse'

Jane's Addiciton - 'Nothing's Shocking'
Edge Of Sanity - 'Crimson'
Live Alien Broadcast - 'Distant'

2 Skinnee J's - 'Supermercado!'
Iron Maiden - 'Powerslave'
Slayer - Reign In Blood
Howard Shore - 'The Fellowship Of The Ring' soundtrack

Those all fulfill me in ways I cannot describe.

Arch enemy - Burning Bridges

Absolutely astonishing riffs with excellent drums, brilliant vocals all perfectly produced. One of the few albums i can listen to front to back without getting bored, its just too intense, great car music for being stuck in traffic jams :)

Highlight : Pilgrim

Opeth - Blackwater park

They dont come much better than this. Absolutely epic guitar solos and very chunky riffs and chord progressions in most places. Excellent use of acoustic guitars to give a sort of jingley sound to the electric perfectly used in drapery falls, i love it.

Highlight : The drapery Falls

opeth - morningrise
opeth - blackwater park
the gathering - how to measure a planet?
the gathering - mandylion (had it longest, but only recently started liking it, and now loving it!!)
lacuna coil - unleashed memories
lacuna coil - comalies (kinda new, but i surprise myself by still almost constantly listening to it, plus one of my favourite title tracks of any band, even the bonus track is brilliant)
radiohead - ok computer
smashing pumpkins - almost eveything!
stereophonics - word gets around

couldnt live without any of them...

1. Death Symbolic
2. Metallica ...And Justice for All
3. Opeth Morningrise
4. Pantera Vulgar Display of Power
5. Sepultura Arise
6. Katatonia Brave Murder Day

What "perfect" cds basically boil down to a list of my favorite cds.
1 Opeth - Morningrise
2 Agalloch - Pale Folklore
3 Agalloch - The Mantle
4 Opeth - My Arms, Your Hearse
5 Opeth - Orchid
6 Dark Tranquillity - Projector

Opeth - MAYH- Morningrise

Pink Floyd - Wish you were Here , Dark side of the Moon Atom heart mother .. fuck almost every album .. I like dark side the most

Death - The sound and symbolic

Tool - Aenima

A Perfect Circle has the most perfect album I've ever heard .... 10x what tool is in regards to everything takin in concideration ..

I don't know if I'd say perfect, but a few albums just have this really cohesive feeling to them. That's not just solid, they have to start and end well and vary a bit, and not feel like they have any filler. Whether or not I listen to them much anymore, I hold them high because of this.

Metallica - Master of Puppets
Opeth - MAYH
Pain of Salvation - The Perfect Element Pt. I
Strapping Young Lad - City

I can't put anything on here that I haven't had for a few years. I just don't know yet with newer albums. So there may be others that I have and love now that don't make it.

Practically flawless CDs:
Amorphis's Elegy
Opeth's MAYH
Tool's Lateralus
Smashing Pumpkins's Siamese Dream
Radiohead's OK Computer

That's probably all. Overall, Amorphis's Elegy is still probably the most perfect album I have. I'd say they all are not absolutely perfect, albeit being masterpieces. (Note that Mellon Collie, AEnima, and Morningrise are masterpieces too, but I did not consider them quite as applicable to the topic.... :p)

Opeth - BWP
Pantera - Vulgar
Bloodbath - RTC
Metallica - ... And Justic For All
Meshuggah - Nothing

AC/DC - Back in Black .... very close, but I couldn't say I find it perfect, I don't care much for "Shoot to Thrill"... the other 5, I can't muster a solitary complaint against.

Interesting thread. Here's my picks:

Opeth: "My Arms, Your Hearse"

Radiohead: "The Bends"

Jimi Hendrix: "Axis: Bold as Love"

I can think of a bunch more really awesome albums, but those are the only 3 that I can think of that I listen to all the way through without skipping a single track.

:) :) :)

Jim LoTFP, why don't you just ask us what our faviroute overall albums are?

At any rate, the only perfect album that comes to mind is Metallica-MOP. I haven't got one bad thing to say about that album.

I would say MAYH, but I'm not enamoured with the intro to Karma. so I give this album 98%.

Oh, and Krueder Dorfmeister K&D sessions vol 2. is pretty much flawless as far as I'm concerned.

Opeth - Morningrise
Death - Symbolic
Agalloch - The Mantle
Novembre - Novembrine Waltz
Carcass- Necroticism
At the Gates - Slaughter of the Soul
Dissection - Storm of the Light's Bane
Emperor - Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk
Hegemon - By This, I Conquer

Because that's a completely different question than asking about perfect albums.

Many of my favorites have some sort of flaw, sometimes serious ones, but make up for it in other areas.
