AE's Nebula thread (samples, tests, etc)

Ok thank you, but i meant not the Nebula program but the traditional impulse response that you are using to compare the guitars file. Where can i find an impulse respose.wav or whatever of the same cabinet that you have sampled with nebula?

Thank you Noarin, i'm downloading it right now. I will use it to test and maybe undestand the reason of the fuzz so as to try to eliminate it.

^ Nice one. AE's set is very well structured and documented.

Harumph - well I like my impulse more than that Mesa 4x12 i5 impulse ;) (also, Aeturnus, there's a wicked fizz trail on that impulse; were you using pink/white noise as your test tone? I found a sine sweep was much better because it didn't have that noise, whereas impulses I made with pink/white noise did)

Woohoo! Good luck Francesco.

First bit of good news for me all day...

Wouldn't it be funny if our 'fuzz' were to be the cause for the entire soundbank of Nebula suddenly increasing in quality across the board?

I find the absence of low/low-mid content in the Nebula impulses to be just as bad an issue, if not worse, than the high-end fizziness.

That's a fair point, though I think it's one best explored with direct real cabinet vs nebula shoot-outs. Is it a case of impulses adding too much, nebula taking away too much, or nebula representing them just right?

I know the issue with impulses is perpetual dullness. If you brighten them, they sound sterile and grindy. If Nebula's fizz can be killed and the highs are revealed to be somewhat 'softer' sounding, then we're onto something.

Yeah, I agree with the dullness of impulses, I find they're often a bit "stuffier" sounding than the real deal
