And Obama wins!!!

As someone who grew up during the cold war, and has been a frequent visitor in some communist countries before The Wall fell, I can tell you that calling Obama socialist or communist only serves to make you look ignorant. It belittles the lives of those who have either died or lived and survived under communism, and the lives of those who still are.
The US government has been known to be up to some highly suspect things, sure, but to be honest, I don't think socialism stands a snowball's chance in July in the US. The likelyhood is much bigger that the extreme right whites takes over than the left wing reds. In terms of blacks, it matters not, becasue both groups have it as one of the top items on their agenda to off them all.

extremely well said!!!

i dont get the whole 'zomg i wanna own a gun because it's my constitutional right' thing. guns are illegal in aus, and i would say we are all the better for it. at the time when the constitution was written sure it was valid to every household wanting to protect themselves from the english. but times have long changed. and frankly the u.s' 'freedom' died when bush decided to up national security for the sake of 'fighting terrorism'. i don't see how obama can possibly make things worse than they already are for the states.

"God forbid we should ever be twenty years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, and always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty.... And what country can preserve its liberties, if it's rulers are not warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to the facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure." - Thomas Jefferson

Very nice indeed, Jefferson did write some wonderful letters to John Adams about liberties and freedom. All of which deserve to be read over and over again today.

Whats quite hypocritical about this election here in France is that the media call it a "victory for democracy" and other similar bullshit.

The way I see it is that its a clear DEFEAT of democracy.

True democracy is voting freely for a candidate for his political views whatever his race, religion or gender.

In this election, I truly believe Obama was elected because he is part black, or simply because he isn't white (add to this his talent, his campaign money, the media and the Bush administration's poor results... but these all are secondary compared to the race issue). The majority of black people and other ethnic minorities in the US obviously voted for him for a that reason (even though they usually vote for democrats) and I don't blame them. Many white people did the same.. just because he's black. Its all some sort of sick orgy as to who is so not racist that they'll actually vote for a black person.
Amon666, without wanting to take you for an example, this thread kind of proves my point. On your first post you seemed pretty much excited at Obama's victory and even "insulting" to those who didn't want him to be elected. Reading this thread its pretty clear you didn't know much about Obama (him being financed by the lobbys and all the ultracapitalists is so obvious though... considering his campaign spendings) and I'd like you to admit or realize that the main reason why you were for him was for the colour of his skin.

This election was a fiasco for democracy and political debate. It somehow became some sort of Racism (Mc Cain) vs Anti-Racism (Obama) referundum.

I do believe the democrats would have won, with or without Obama, but the debates of the common people around this election was simply too focalised on race, especially by the Obama supporters.

Since I have the american nationality, for the next US presidential elections I'll get my electoral card and go vote... don't worry, I won't vote for the democrats nor for the republicans (unless there's a guy like Ron Paul). I'll vote for one of those other parties that most people have never heard of, the american political system being such a joke (voting for the bigger electors of a state is probably the stupidest system i've ever heard of... I mean if a candidate gets 60% of the electorate in one state, he wins the state and 100% of the electorate of that state is then counted for that candidate... totally stupid!), its important to support the small parties.

If you are able to look past the "Hope" and "Change" mindless bullshit, you'll see that he's actually not THAT different from McCain. Both are just continuing the big government bullshit trends, curtailing our civil liberties, and throwing the Constitution out the door.

Ron Paul was the perfect candidate (Bob Barr and Chuck Baldwin were also acceptable).

Thank you for putting this towards the beginning. I can now completely ignore anything you have to say.

and what makes you think you might not be wrong? what makes you think the gov. would never lie to you?
There are way too many obscure points about that day that still have not been answered. Until that is proven otherwise, I will hold liable some elements of the gov. of willingly hiding things that they don't want the American people to know.

If questioning things suddenly makes me less credible, then yeah, you are part of the sheeple.

These are all the same people who supposedly swear an oath on the bible, and the list of those in recent years who have lied to the American people is far, very far from being short.

In any event, you have your opinion, and I have mine.

Yeah, when I was talking about small parties, I was thinking Chuck Baldwin. For the next presidential election I'm gonna check out that Constitution Party again, thats for sure.

And i agree that democrat and republican : same shit.

I voted for Chuck; Ron Paul endorsed him so he's fine by me.

As for socialism, communism, et. al., read the Communist Manifesto, and see how much has already been implemented. Hint: New Deal, Federal Reserve, certain civil rights legislation...

And Belgar, you give New Hampshire a good name.

I'm the one from New Hampshire, Belgar's a damn southerner. :p
I couldn't vote for Baldwin, I'm hardcore on pro-choice, because I feel that freedom and sovereignty begin in one's own body, even if I dislike abortion. (Not really wanting to open up that can of worms, but when anything is questionable, I prefer to err on the side of personal choice).
I actually voted for Obama, I figure if the Roman Empire II has to fall, it might as well happen quickly, so I can take advantage of the resulting chaos.

Crime, especially gang violence, is a problem in the U.S., and most politicians don't make it a point to really crack down on it, if they address the issue at all. For people with families, especially in cities, the thought of a politician taking away their gun they LEGALLY bought, while not bothering to do anything about the criminals raiding houses and shooting up street corners with their ILLEGAL weapons is a scary concept.

As far as losing "freedom" goes in America, it didn't start with Bush and it won't end with him, theres been plenty of other posts explaining that already, so I won't bother getting into it.

and that's a bad thing?

Bad for you, good for me, descendant of convicts.

I don't own a gun, but I believe people should have a right to defend their rights and property as it is stated in the US constitution.

I do. Crazy Ivan, which destroys cinder-blocks in a single shot, and me, which just downed a bottle of Guiness, are depicted:

Thats how America should go into any "Gang" violence situation.

That is the beautiful thing about the 7.62x39 hollow-point round: one shot and and the fucker is down, plus the added 'butterfly effect' where the round deals more damage to internal organs, unlike the regular 7,62x39.
He will die painfully or lose a limb.

I heard there are people who can do that by sword, spear or bow. That is even cooler.

thanks for this. it's just desperation and fear-mongering swings in the dark, along with bs like calling william ayers a "terrorist."

also LOL at the thought of teh kkk or neonazis getting close enough to barack to get a shot off. if anything happens to him, it'll be an inside job.... just like 9-11 :loco: LOL

election 2008: FUCK THE REPUBLICANS :headbang:

so glad that stoopid palin is nowhere near the button.

liberals in this country dont believe in that. that's what makes the next four years so scary.
for the assault weapons ban, against concealed carry, less rounds in your mag, insanely high taxes on firearms, and harder to get.
rough times are a'comin

Good thing Obama won. Hopefully things in USA are going to be a lot better now...

George Wanker Bush was a total shithead. He probably can't even take a crap without help from his mom. Good thing that he's gone.
