Didn't the Egyptian government shut down or crack down on a bunch of metal bands a few years back? I believe it was in response to the complaints of some of the clerics over metal being un-Islamic- even though Egypt is supposed to be a secular state.

mm that was in 1997.. and not bands but there were illegal concerts which have not just metal music concerts but another stuff as drugs and so on "as government tell" but now there are much bands and concerts in egypt..even there are about concert every month... again if someone want some songs i can send him!

Indeed we played Egypt at Egypt Metal Festival in March and it was a blast! Thanks to all of those who came down and support Nervecell and the other bands!
