Goth girls are the ugliest beings alive... Including walruses!

Seriously, what's sexy about a black nailed girl with a zombie make-up? Unless of course you're a necrophilliac... A girl that doesn't want to look like a woman is comparable to a man who does :D

But that's just my thoughts...

Zombiecore mate, not goth. Pointless differnce in my opinion but real original goths would get pissed off about your terminology. People who walk around wearing lost of black with white faces and black tears running down their faces are just fucking wannabes, "Goffs" as i refer to them. Every scene or movemnt has it's wannabes though, people who try too hard and are just generally tossers, sXe kids who have to let everyone know their straight edge is the kind of thing i'm talking about.

On the subject of the thread, no doubt there's female opeth fans (I know some) i'm sure metal is a male dominated genre but nonetheless there are definetly some female Opeth fans. As for them only being into Opeth (or moreover, metal) because they're fucked up? I doubt it. Everyones a bit fucked up and sure it affects what we listen to just as it affects what TV we watch, but that's not the sole reason.

Well stragely enough real goth started way back in the late 70's with Joy Division (hard to believe i know). It was big for about two years between 79 and 81 other than that it more or less died with Ian Curtis. The Cure was a band a lot of orginal goths followed afterward, but that was always more grunge than anything else. How goth and metal became inextrictably linked is baffling because, Joy Diviosn (and more over Tony Wilson's factory records) was really the birth of indie if anything; perhaps it was the occult themes which had dogged metal from the early days as far back as Jimi Page dabbling in Voodoo? Who knows. Modern goth (Type O Negative for example) has come from the likes of Joy Division and the post-punk, goth movement being mixed with metal.

Interesting yes?

Interesting read man (I see you're quite in this subject somehow) but you didn't answer the question... If what I described as goth wasn't actually goth then how does a 'trve goth' look like?

Oh and BTW, no matter how you call a girl with zombie makeup, I call her ugly :loco:

If you follow the time line even further then you get to bands like Depeche Mode, Soft Cell and Gary Numan (and obviously New Order), not what we commonly think of as goth but closer to what it orginaly was then any band today. It seems more like synth-pop, the first time synth, mainly electronic music etc had been used in mainstream music.

And of course synth (particulalrly Gary Numan) ultimatly gave rise to industrial. Yes it's true: Joy Division, Nine Inch Nails, crazy yes? In truth, the closest band today to what original goth was is the Bravery and bands in the same vein.

I've a close mate who's well into the history of goth. I used to make the mistake of thinking it had to do with metal but he corrected me.

Real goths? My mate knows a feller who's a proper original goths he's about 40, the description i have of him is KISS make up, velvet coat, pointed boots. Very strange.

Oh... So it's like... better than the black-nailed zombie image? :err:

I've been to several metal shows in my day, and it's still about 65%/35% men to women. That being said, 80% of those chicks are hot. Therefore, 28% of all people at all metal shows are hot metal babes. Now consider that at least 60% of women have been abused or emotionally scarred in some way. We're down to 16.8% of all bone-able women. Finally, let us surmise that 50% of these women will be in steady relationships. This leaves us, red-blooded heterosexual men, with a maximum of 8.9% of all people at any given metal concert with whom we could conceivably have sexual relations.

Also just want to mention, my mom got funny looks at work last week because she was playing metal too loudly in her office. My mom rules. ;-)

1. who said all emotionaly scarred women are not bone-able
2. some girls in a steady relationship like to fuck on the side
3. when the alcohol is flowing in the vains, anything can happen
