All women into metal are damaged goods... sure, and I guess by the same logic all guys into metal are damaged goods... in fact, watching some art program on BBC 2 about artists it seems to me that anyone slightly interested in anything creative is probably "damaged goods" by todays standards. Just the facts. Or something :loco:

Of course in todays world everyone is "depressed" or has "special needs" or something that makes them unique :erk: I don't think its just limited to females.

I like your "facts" better than NFU's "facts". Refering to a girl who's been raped as "damaged goods" is cruel. And it is strange to here that here. I would expect that from someone with a more mainstream world view.

On a lighter note: I was in the elevator today and instead of the usually rap or country, a (very pretty) girl was listening to metal (or hard-rock er something). And metal-girls always have dark (natural hair). Never blonde ime. The ones who dye their hair dark are messed up anyway.

@Kenneth: He is from near Memphis, I wouldn't doubt the only thing on his radio is rap. ;

The descriptions that Vampyrouss and NFU said are really wrong, you can't put all the girls in the same place, you don't know the girls that I know, so I think that is unfair to say that, My friends (Chilean and Swedish) are really cool, In chile the girls are more agressive, you can see girls headbanging really hard in the concerts, the swedish girls that I know have no problems at all, the swedish people are very nice!, and in the concerts you can see girls on the moshpits singing every song of the band, in the last concert of Dismember I was behind a few girls, very crazy girls and damn funny!. You can't speak for everyone here, that's your opinion, well, I have a different one.

Oh yeah, by the way, what I stated as fact is NOT my opinion... at all. Just so you know. Thanks. Nor do I believe it is fact, come on!

I thought this ---> :loco: would be a clear indication of what my statement meant!!

two different demographics my friend...let alone 2 different countries. i was speaking of american metal women...for thats what ive been around.
Well... I've only been to the US a few times (somewhere around 10 times), so I guess I don't have quite the same experience that you that actually live there, so I can't argue with you there... But I must say I haven't met any girls fitting your description on my trips over to the States either. I guess I'm lucky? ;)

I could be off on this a bit, but from what i've found is that most girls love vocals. They love to sing along to songs if they cant just dance to it, so its pretty tough for a girl to sing along to growling. Granted, opeth has clean vocals in their music, but more often than not its after growling. Most girls i know that can appreciate opeth at all would listen to Damnation, but getting a girl to listen to wreath is a lost cause in most cases in my experience.

I've seen some girls on this forum, so clearly girls do listen to opeth, which is great. And im sure a lot of them listen to the growling and everything too, which is cool, but i would say a majority of girls dont fit that mold. Its not good or bad, its just what ive noticed.
At least here in Sweden it seems that the dislike of growling is pretty equally distributed between the sexes when you look at people who like metal. And yes, I've met a lot of girls that do like growling; not only in Sweden. My wife for example, (who actually is from the US, btw) likes the growls of Mike and Dan Swanö among others. And a female friend of mine became VERY disappointed when both Theater of Tragedy and Within Temptation dropped the growling parts on their newer albums.

Well i agree with you. Most people don't like growling. But i was just using that to add to my point about girls singing along. Its tough to sing along to growling.

And a few people are using statistics like "my friend is a girl and likes growling" and expecting that to be a big deal. If you primarily listen to metal you are more than likely going to meet girls that listen to it, and wow, they like growling too. Big deal. I'm talking in general here, most girls i would say dont listen to metal.

me too, might I add that I loathe the goth look/scene, too damn depressing. Also, there are so many people in that scene that try so hard to look different or unique that they just end up looking the same, "hot topic chic" I call it...

Master's Apprentice is my favorite song, with The Moor coming in at a close second...

I just think that most men here just haven't met the right metal chick...

I totally agree with you there  I mean , I know there aren't TONS of women into real metal but there ARE some like myself and a few friends of mine ... and none of us are Goths :tickled:

Master's Apprentices is also one of my favorites right now , also Harvest , Bleak , Baying of the Hounds , Deliverance and Reverie / Harlequin Forest . I've loved metal since I was about 10 , I think  Grew up with Metallica and Pantera because that's what my dad listened to , then as I got older I discovered more great bands ... like my beloved Opeth :worship:

Just wanna say that you guys may be right in a general sort of way - but there ARE exceptions like myself .

well, i am a normal, fairly sane (not that there's anyone who isn't a bit loony, at least not anyone interesting) woman and love metal...

and i'm told i'm not too hard to look at either... ;-)
