Audiogalaxy... Gone!?!

shit, shit, shit.....all the people who live in metal starved countries like me are going to suffer severely...this is so pathetic. They should at least have songs by artists who aren't greedy fuckers and don't mind ppl downloading their songs.....

Yes. Being paid for work that you do is indeed greedy. Stupid fucking musicians, why should they try and make a living from music.......

It's really a shit...but people, come on...there'll be always another Napster, another Audiogalaxy and so on letting people share music in the web...so, the effort of these stupid officers is a waste of time.
By the way, I'm really sad because for me audiogalaxy was everything...everything that I typed was there...I doubt it'll be another software like that...
I have nothing more to say...oh, yes, I have something to say to these money addicted labels:

PAU NO CU DE VOCÊS SEUS MERDAS DA INDÚSTRIA FONOGRÁFICA! EU ESPERO QUE VOCÊ TENHAM UMA MORTE LENTA, DOLOROSA E HORRÍVEL! MORRAM!

Not only am I pissed but this is actually scary, like a nightmare come true. Yeah in the days of Napster I didnt download songs that are hard to find like I do now. AG had EVERYTHING you were looking for, except more popular bands blocked. and on a crap 56k modem like i'm on, it's good becauase you can get disconnected in the middle of a song and still download the rest of it without having to worry about looking for it again. ARGH.
But someone told me a lot of people that had AG are going here: www.filetopia.org
I'm just about to try it out.

In a word: MMUUUTTTHHHHAAFFFUUCCCKKKKEEERRRR???!!!!!

*goes insane*
Man, I only just fucking became a member!!! Mutherfucking bitch arseholes...FUCK!!! GOODDAMMMNIT!!!

"Except for the fact that the PEOPLE WHO OWNED THE COPYRIGHTS TO THE MUSIC by and large DID NOT WANT IT THERE."

Jim, not all of us get free promos from record companies. I don't know if you've noticed or not, but MTV and the radio doesn't play metal. The only way I can figure out what music to BUY is with programs like audiogalaxy. I've BOUGHT more CD's because of audiogalaxy than I would have without it (I'm not going to fork over my money without hearing something first). I'm not going to stop listening to metal because of this, but it is going to be very inconvienient to be a fan of the genre, and I probably won't buy as many CD's. Face it, the only groups that benefit from this are the major labels.

yea exactly opethfan. Im not going to take a chance and shall out money to something that "looks" cool. i want to hear the fuckin band first before i get anything. record sales are up because people can download stuff, so i dont see what the problem is. if this makes people buy more albums, what the fuck are they whining about. FUCK this pisses me off.

Let's see...

Ledger from April 2002... -$309.65

Ledger from May 2002... -$293.52

As far as promos, half are things that I cringe at when opening the mailbox.

Of the other half, some are actual CDs I get to keep, the other half are cardboard promo sleeves and other non-complete things which means I have to buy the fuckers ANYWAY.

What's your point, exactly?

Random thoughts:

I believe everyone deserves to get paid for what they create, no matter how small or big they are or how much of a sell-out I might think they are. I have always equated peer-to-peer file sharing with the underground tape trade but it seems to have turned into something else. The whole situation is sticky and there is no easy solution.

I think that we all could benefit if more artists posted MP3's on their webpages. I recently bought Slechtvalk "Falconry" CD. I probably never would have bought it except for the fact that they had three complete MP3's on their website (the album has 9 songs). I wish more bands would do this so we could do a little more separating of the wheat from the chaff...and I don't mean soundbytes, either. I'm talking complete songs.

Consumers also need to be more cautious with their money. If you buy a CD and you don't like it on the first listen, don't bitch about it being a total rip-off. Put some time and effort into liking the CD. If you still don't like it after a few weeks then it might be time to trade it for something else.

I'm off of my soapbox for now. R.I.P. Audiogalaxy.

damn, not to worry get Direct Connect if you have files to share you can get about any cd you want. I go in the Swedish metal hub and get tons of death metal music videos and cds. the downside is you have to share a shit load of stuff.
