Bad idea to mix classical music and death. It's a very huge contrast. I really
enjoy both classical music and metal, but when combining like this is just
wrong! Metal band do best in being influenced by classical music, not mixing
it. Perhaps Mike can start a ProgSchool for weak bands like this one? (This is
ofcuze IMO if you haven't realized that yet

Thats your opinion, but really who says they can't be mixed? I think it gives a really good atmosphere and if you don't like it then thats your loss. Too much for your ears maybe? People who do something different maybe be criticised at first, but then remembered as innovative. Don't confine yourself by saying that a metal band will do best by being influenced by classical music. Just because you haven't heard otherwise doesn't mean it's not possible. But once again, your loss.

Lewl! My loss How can it be my loss when I've listened to it and actually
given it a chance but still didn't liked it? I will not lay sleepless tonight yeah?

In my ears it's sounds cheap and actually ugly to mix em. Yes perhaps some
band can mix it but I seriously doubt it would sound good to do it as often as
Dark Lunacy.

I'd say recommend Winds if they are into the mellower and more musical sides to Opeth, and not the growl and death metal side.

i think the best band that sound a little like Opeth were Bathory
But thats cos Opeth were influenced by Bathory ^^

I'd seriously recommend them to most of you on this forum, they own ^^

I don't like Dark Lunacy's vocals at all, but the song Forget Me Not is pretty good.

Best Opeth-y albums I've heard are Subterranean Masquerade's Temporary Psychotic State EP and Amorphis' Elegy LP.
