Bands in metal that never top their first album.

Soulside Journey is one of the best death metal albums ever. PERIOD

... and yeah I know majority of darkthrone fans would not agree on it being darkthrone finest moment because after all 90% of the bands material is raw black metal which is what the band is known for. That's really why people love darkthrone. I'm just into oldschool death metal a lot.

Hell Awaits

I whole heartedly disagree, the album while being great just doesn't keep up to the countless catchy thrash riffs while Hell Awaits seems to fade away at the end and bores me.

Show No Mercy is another album where say hell awaits is extreme.

Hell Awaits is just as important to death metal as seven churches. Hell Awaits is the first real slayer album. Haunting The Chapel shows the band starting to get a style and is extreme for 84.

You can honestly say this after listening to Mardraum?

That is where they come closest to beating it, it is an amazing album but I slightly prefer Vikingligir Veldi.

This just came to me and i can't believe no one said it.

STD (A HAHAAHAHAHA yea that's immature) I thought contained the best vocal performance from Bjorn ever. It was a simpler more groove based Soilwork, but still kickass.

his best clean vocals most likely but i think that hevy devy got a better all-round performance on the white album( sorry cant think of the album name for some reason)

I don't understand your connection to well, but yes Devin Townsend is equal in my book. Bjorn has gotten his screaming down to perfection for his own style. You know when it's him on vocals, same with Devy.:headbang:

YES! Show No Mercy is the best bridge from Heavy Metal into Thrash, and there is not way any other Slayer album beats that.

Show No Mercy is weak when say, compared to Season In The Abyss.
