Waz types like an idiot, much like 95% of the rest of the forum, but for some reason his typing offends everyone, even if they are illiterate themselves. Also, he starts lots of threads about stuff he covered and that kind of thing which is ban worthy I suppose, but most people who demand his banning just moan about his "annoying typing" when it's no worse than most of the rest of the turds on here.

You've banned him for something that is his choice??? In the end it is people's choice whether they want to download it or not. You could post a link on this forum to a leak and i know that a great deal of the members here wouldn't download it as they are loyal fans. I myself would download it but i'd still buy the album when it is released as I have done with all their other albums. If Mike himself wants people banned for even mentioning a leak here then fair enough, but i don't think you should have the right to do that even though you are the mod here and an extremely good one at that. A leak doesn't affect you. It affects Mike and the band.
I'm not going to retype my OP so just read it again. This unfortunately is a completely predictable course of events and reaction. First people will be smart asses, then question whether I will actually follow through with what I say... or both (see flebby) and then bring up waz using the same reasoning, then split hairs regarding the words I use and take us completely get off topic.
For the record: I thought you were fans of Opeth? You all know Mike regularly visits this place. Why would you talk about trying to download a leak of an Opeth record here then? It is just incomprehensible to me. I think it's fucking rude and mindless to come on a band's official forum and talk about how you are going to pirate their music. For those who are newer here... the last time that happened (around the time GR was about to be released) this entire forum was shut down. I'm trying to prevent that for everyone's benefit.. so you all have a place to discuss all things Opeth.... with the exception of how you are going to access the perhaps inevitable leak. Do what you want outside of this forum.... I'm only concerned about what happens here. I can't even understand why I have to explain this to people.
And FTLOG waz has NEVER been banned for his typing, or being annoying. He consistently violated the rules, made no effort to correct his actions despite warnings and discussions on the board and via PM, but rather became beligerent and rude leaving me no choice but to ban him repeatedly. He is not welcome here, and every time he returns he gives other posters to say, "What good is a ban if Waz keeps coming back and doing the same thing?". He's been coming back so long people don't even know why he was banned in the first place. I'm gonna have to post a friggin' sticky explaining it at this rate.

i agree 100% no ones stopping you discussing all that stuff on other sites, but it is inappropriate to do it here. dont be a bunch of fuckwits and make samsara close the forum.

I don't think anyone objects to banning someone for posting a direct link but making mention of a leak within a certain context is harmless. Besides, if Mike hasn't come to terms with the fact that people pirate his music then quite frankly he's in the wrong industry.
Besides, with the exception of a few people, I don't think it's anybody's intention to outright pirate the album. Most of the people claiming they'll be downloading the album are just impatient and will more likely than not buy the album when it's released (not that that's justification for downloading it when it leaks, but it's a reasonable explanation), so the idea that most people here are out to "steal" the album is a bit far-fetched.
That being said, waz is a fucking idiot.

Actually, I do have a point, and banning me would only prove it (or at least partially reinforce it).
Note the subtlety in my argument. I thought banning flebbie was pretty silly.

yeah well this is a place to discuss opeth, and right in the rules it says your not allowed to talk about downloading the album or the album leaking, so if we want to post here we have to follow the rules
ive never downloaded opeth for personal reasons, but people undoubtidly will, but we just arent allowed to discuss it here, i think thats pretty much the end of it, i mean can you really fight it? and who cares, is it such a big deal
