No. Their first album is excellent, true Melodic Death Metal. You know, the style that existed before the huge surge of popularity that led to the disaster known as the Gothenburg style (which absolutely ruined Melodic Death Metal). A Velvet Creation can be likened to The Red in the Sky is Ours.
On its own terms,Mirrorworlds is not a bad album, very solid, certainly not the sell-out album it's made to be by some. It's just that the debut is so good that it easily overshadows Mirrorworlds. In other words, there's the ceiling effect at work here(sort of like for instance Walpurgisnacht fares in comparison to His Majesty At the Swamp. The latter is just so great on every level that everything that comes afterwards simply can't withstand the comparison and becomes somewhat redundant). Then again I'm usually quite tolerant of stuff that's considered far from top-notch so take my words with a grain of salt. You should be able to find them both on ebay relatively cheap. I know Mirrorworlds is still very easy to find. I've been told by tasteful people that it fares pretty poorly in comparison to the debut, can anyone share an opinion on the album?
I'm not very well versed in this sub-genre, but I'm pretty sure Opeth belongs on there. My vote is for Morningrise.

not the best ever but the best on your list
hmmm, I was wondering why I haven't heard of Eucharist before (Since I was a huge MeloDeath fan a few years ago), gave them a LastFM 'similar' search, and found that most of the 'similar' stuff is on the fruity metalcore side of things (e.g., Nightrage, Darkane, The Duskfall, Arch Enemy, Mercenary, Scar Symmetry, Soilwork)
are they of the "Soundtrack to Your Escape" In Flames, and "Catch 22" Hypocrisy era style (two other bands on their similar list)?
i take offense to you calling nightrage, the duskfall, scar symmetry, and all those others as "fruity metalcore"
it's ok to be gay, you don't need to be offended. accept who you are.
