Best/most interesting opeth song, production-wise?

The reason why I said Harlequein Forest, aside from being a great song

is that this song has fucking EVERYTHING. The production on this specific song outshines nearly every single other Opeth song ever, and this is coming from a still life fanatic. I truly think the production quality on Ghost Reveries has still yet to be outmatched, WS is great but it's nothing remotely close to Ghost Reveries in terms of production quality. I still have yet to understand why people dislike Ghost Reveries on the forum so much, I think it's a fucking amazing album. The dynamics on Ghost Reveries has WS beat by far. This song alone is ridiculously underrated, and deserves more praise than people give it.

I mean, people talk about how By the pain I see in others (which is another classic) isn't talked about much but Harlequin Forest just gets ragged on so bad every time it's brought up in a discussion, I'll never understand why. This song is absolute brilliance.

Obviously two totally different cds, but when I listen and compare the two I think Ghost Reveries is still their most talented//out of the ordinary//lets try this cd ever still. Thats why I like it so much. Just thought I'd throw that in there.

I'd also like to mention that if you haven't heard this shit in 5.1 true surround on an amazing 500+ watt sound system, don't bother discrediting the production on Ghost Reveries. Absolutely stunning.

^ I agree, A/R/Hf is propably my favorite song! (I included Atonement because it's great, but not so great that I would listen to it alone...)

allow me to kiss you, or at least hug you... ill wave to you in public if i ever see you!

Into the Frost of Winter is definitely... interesting.

Though, I think the poor quality adds to it in an odd way.

Again...
Harlequin Forest!

Put on your best headphones/earplugs and listen to the introduction
of the bass guitar, a couple of seconds after the rythm guitar in the
absolute beginning of the song. It-is-so-effin-brilliant!
Mendez does an acrobatic kind of riff/lead/fill with an elegant sliding
movement (glissando)!

And that is just the first seconds of the song!!!! :)

I love it!!! Hoping it will be played on the european tour and especially
at the Stockholm gig!! O_M_G!!!

Everyone should start screaming it in the live shows, I would if I were to go onto a gig, but I don't use to...

(yes, and I'm talking about Reverie/Harlequin forest, and possibly atonement.)
