The most overestimated, appreciated song from Opeth is.....

Ghost Reveries was the most logical step after BWP, in my opinion. If you ask me, it doesn't get enough credit from us pre-GR fans.

Ghost of Perdition

good one i'd have to agree there, great song:headbang:

but I hear people give it way too much credit. I think it's becuase it's the opener.

Overetismated huh? hmmm Black Rose Immortal becuase of it's length and Deliverance.

oh no not them dickheads that got horny over tgc. 'oh yeah ghost reveries is like their best album'. its the only fucking album they know. shut the fuck up

now now we were all noobs at one point. i've only been an opeth fan for six years, i guess that's quite long to some.

if they feel TGC is opeth's best then they should keep listening to slipknot, it'll satisfy them better.

I would say The Moor. Great track but it's amusing how many think it's Opeths best song. Also I think Serenity Painted Death and Harvest are quite overestimated.

I still can't get used to into the frost of winter, but perhaps it's because i listen to opeth in the morning when i drive to work.

I dunno, I would say ghost of perdition. It was a song that had a half-arsed music video made, a censored radio type version, and in its full version is not a new level for the band. But it doesn't seem the new level for the band when I listen to it.
Not saying they are abismal songs... Just not the halmark sound that it seemed they were being pushed as.

i assume you you meant the grand conjuration (which i think is underrated)

I loved tgc. I thought it was an extremely intense track and I personally would take it over anything on Orchid(least favorite album). I think alot of the older songs were very bland, original, but bland. Some of Morningrise, MAYH and especially Still Life and the albums after, is what I think about when I think Opeth.

About Demon of the Fall. The firstst 4 minutes are pure bliss but then it dissapeears to nowhere, so it's hard to say...they messed up the song. It could have been so good...
what the hell...?

demon of the fall's outro is one of the highlights, besides of course the explosive crescendo.

at any rate, i think april ethereal or the amen corner. not really overapreciated, but they are less powerful than most other songs. and credence is kind of dry too.

april ethereal? the ending is one of the most powerful sounding in opeths catalogue
i agree 100%. but it unfortunately doesnt make up for some of the other parts that sound like a wall of noise. i know a large factor of it is production, but i found the song hard to get into.

on the other hand, i love 3:40 - 5:45.

so whatever.

~ My Arms Your Hearse is pure Opeth perfection. There is not one thing wrong with April Ethereal. If it sounds like a "wall of noise" to you, then may I suggest that your mind and ears are just not "getting it." :)

when i saw "wall of noise", i mean it is very poor mixing quality...these like a layer of dusty static sitting on all of the instruments.

BANNED. :heh:
