Best of 2006 so far

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I thought NFU was being pretty nice lately, I wish everyone would lay off the guy a bit!
well all i did was ask him a question nicely. the last sentence was clearly taking the piss, if he gets worked up by that, he has a problem. i did admit i started listening to enslaved thanks to him, so i wrote that in order to stop gagging on his cock :yuk: :loco:
does anyone here listen to Bela Fleck and happen to hear the new Flecktones album? I think its possibly their strongest release, if you fancy that sort of music (which i do).
yep, i like the album :)

Theres some other nice albuns, but my top 10 is:

1) Secrets of the Moon - Antithesis
2) Daylight Dies - Dismantling Devotion
3) Agalloch - Ashes Against the Grain
4) Katatonia - The Great Cold Distance
5) Axamenta - Ever-Arch-I-Tech-Ture
6) Obsidian - Emerging
7) Before the Dawn - The Ghost
8) Novembre - Materia
9) Disillusion - Gloria
10) Mercenary - The Hours That Remain

Not exactly in this order, except for Secrets of the Moon =)

Some great albuns r out of the list, like:

Ihsahn - The Adversary
Green Carnation - Acoustic Verses
To Mera - Transcendental
Beyond Twilight - For The Love of Art and the Making
Jorn - The Duke
The Provenance - Red Flags
Killswitch Engage - As Daylight Dies

To name a few =P

i finally saw my chemical romance on tv...that black parade video.
well, err...it was shit. they had a good idea of combining the procession type intro towards the end of the song...yes, a fairly good idea but overall the song is way too whiny and emo for my taste.

are there any other good songs on the album, nfu?

uhhh. "shit"? no. it isnt. and yes, there are. but why should i bother really? you thought a solid song was "shit". i recommend moving on.

i value your opinion, so im asking if there's another song in a different vein that you think i should try. nobody's forcing you to bother, im just asking.

but if all the songs on the album sound like the black parade, then yeah dont bother.

1. Summoning - Oath Bound

2. Joanna Newsom - Ys

3. Celtic Frost - Monotheist

4. Negativa - Negativa

Another year, another big empty void where the art should be.

I don't know if i posted in here or not yet, but in 2006 i didn't hear too many things that really blew me away. Three stand out though, Drumcorps - Grist, Arkatau Eos - Mirrorion and Woburn House - Message To Ourselves Outside The Dreaming Machine. I'm sure in the next few years i'll find some things i missed that are cool though.

Ok i heard half of the Black Parade the other day, and i was very sleepy so i don't remember much, but from what i heard i remembered thinking... not too bad in fact. And before anyone says anything, no i am not saying this just so i could kiss NFU's ass, but this is my honest opinion. :)
