Black Metal... why?

Actually, I think Justin here is pretty much right when it comes to the "tr00" essence of black metal, since it's basically black metal in it's purest form, before bands started adding progressive sections and started experimenting with avant-garde ideas.

Doesn't matter, nobody is preventing him to recommend his ''essential'' stuff, but it is still not a reason to dismiss completely what certain BM bands accomplished in their latter albums

"i aint play this",

A recommendation is a testimony of judgment. I gave mine. Take it for what you assess it to be worth, and quit whining like a little bitch.

Also, I pointed to records that I think are part of the "heart" of black metal. This does not mean "ignore all other black metal". Slow down, and take it easy with the sweeping conclusions.

Justin's point is that Enslaved - RUUN is hardly black metal, because it isn't. it's like recommending Opeth to someone looking for death metal bands

Of course. But then he decided to stroke his poorly developed ego in hopes that we plebians would reaffirm his inhuman genius in the realm of thought. And that's when I started laughing.

yah...so i was listening to "Inn i slottet fra droemmen" by burzum once, and experienced a wonderful revelation in my listening experience, which i have been able to apply to all music. i was listening to the repeating up and down minor third thing. (you can check it out on the anus.com samples) i was listening with the ear of my western/classically poisoned mind, hearing that interval, with the lower note being the tonic, or tonal center. then, something happened....i was delerious and dozing off, my mind switched modes, and the concept of a tonal center disappeared. if there was one, it seemed like a non-existent (but i sensed it) point between the two notes. it was a wonderful experience, and i have learned to apply that mode of listening to all music. thanks burzum.

thank you, *bows*

honestly though, it was a wonderful experience. i love listening to music from different perspectives. though, i know that sharing this doesn't make for good conversation, but i like getting it off my chest...i think about it alot... maybe i'm just deluded...or a complete idiot...yah, that sounds better.
