Borknagar Dvd In The Making - Need Bootlegs!!!

I admit there would be a lot of free space left, I mean, bands don't even fill a 4.7GB cd. However, I believe it allows the band to release better quality and more material.

The first is what I believe bands should focus on, amazing-sounding concerts (imagine Blind Guardian -ITTLG- or Iced Earth -AIA- live with that quality!), but if bands want to fill a 47.5GB cd well, I don't really mind (would take forever to watch and only Iron Maiden or Priest or Mötorhead and the likes would be able to fill one ).
Well if they can't fill a 4.7gb disc, then I don't see how the quality could increase because they use a different media format.

I personally think HD for anything outside of games is rubbish, even watching movies all it does it makes the colours more intense, images sharper etc. And In the end it doesn't look realistic anymore.

'Tis a shame if its up in smoke. Evergrey had the BEST special features disc EVER - 6.5 HOURS of stuff, right from their first album recording sessions in 1996. For Borknagar, I wouldn't be expecting the world, but at least 2 hours would be awesome. Besides, the studio sessions of Epic were quite the lulz.

Thanks a lot, Asgeir. I hope you're happy. I hope you have fun in Vegas. I hope you win lots of money so you can quit all the other bands you're in too.

Not that I'd care since none of them are half as good as Borknagar.

Asgeir dropping out can't bode well for how the new album is going to sound. That is unless they hire a drummer accustomed to more aggressive forms of metal, preferably Black Metal.

Dude, He left for his own reasons you can't be mad at him :p Let him live life.

Though I'm sure Asgeir contributed some, I am pretty certain Oystein writes the majority of the music.

Does Oystein write every single hit on the drum kit? I doubt it.

I'm sure he has a general idea of what he wants the drums on the track to sound like when he's writing it then he leaves room for Asgeir to modify and add what he wants to make it better. That's generally how the song writing process goes, it's very rare in my experience that each band member composes their own parts in each song.

I'm sure they will, Oystein said this next album with be heavy black metal. The problem is he won't do awesome fills.

Well, last time I checked, you were not in Borknagar. ;)
But, you're semi-correct, Øystein makes a draft of what he's thinking drum-wise (where to blast, where to play mid-tempo etc), but ultimately it is (was) up to Asgeir. Me, on the other hand, get no pointers, just leverage.

Sorry to bump this thread but I'm curious, please don't hate me! But the other epic after "Epic" has been out for a while now and I'm still curious as to what is going on with this possible DVD release. I googled it and can't find any answers, so any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Wow, didn't realize it's THAT long ago I started this project... Haven't had time to actually work on the DVD so it's still only on the "want to do"-list.

Bump again for renewed curiosity of what happens now that Asgeir's gone.
