What does everyone here think of Children of Bodom? I'm sure sadistik hates them... :p Anyway, it is very unique and talented music, but many people hate the keyboards (I don't see why, Janne is one amazing musician) or the vocals (which this band is certainly not about). Their lead guitarist Alexi (he also does the vocals too) is also one talented motherfucker, he's only 23 and has definite potential... I wouldn't be surprised (I expect it, actually) if one day he was a "guitar god" like Satriani, Vai, Malmsteen, etc. If you haven't heard of them you should check them out... I think songs like Bodom After Midnight, Black Widow, Bed of Razors, and Touch Like Angel of Death are pretty good examples.

Well, they're kinda hard to categorize... a mixture of death, black, and pure 80's heavy metal. Their first album is more death metal and their third is more like 80's metal. If you don't like keyboard you'd HATE the third album, but you might still like the other two. They just released a new single (You're Better Off Dead), and it is certainly far away from death metal now, but it still kicks ass! I don't think Opeth sound anything like them either...

I just heard that their next album will be called Hate Crew Deathroll (from Spinefarm's coming releases section or something)... it's gonna be released in Finland the start of next year or maybe even the end of this year.

Children of the Bodom are really Euro Neoclassical metal done with a little added touch of heaviness and death vocals, i think they sound like their country mates Stratovarius with death vocals. I guess Yngwie with Death vox were bound to be done by someone.

bodom is fucking insane. Stun put it right, their frontman, Alexi Laiho, is a prodigy. Hatebreeder is a great album to pick up... hard to explain who they sound like. Follow the Reaper is one to get, if you really like keyboards. they incorporate them very well.

(p.s. my predictions is that TestAmenT will pick up CoB for their next tour.)

I think Testament will do a tour with Soilwork first, but that of course doesn't mean I want it to happen anymore than a jaunt w/ Alexi! Everytime I Die has a fucking cool video for a godly song! The more music these guys put out, the more respect they get and that is fucking sweet!

So I picked up Hatebreeder yesterday...still haven't had the chance to listen to the whole thing..but I'm about three songs into it and I like! Pretty interesting music and they all shred on their instruments!! Thanks guys! Great info;)
