You compare old bands, which might have had some influence on the metal scene, with new bands like CoF and Dimmu Borgir, who are just clones of other black metal bands.
Now, tell me that Stryper, Saint, Steel Prophet and Lightmare were more important to metal than Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Death and Bathory.

Beatles albums were burned because they said they were bigger than Jesus, not because the Christians found their music morally degrading. And it wasn't just in the US, it was in England and possibly other countries as well. Just thought you might like to get your facts straight before you use them to back up your ridiculous argument. And I seriously doubt metal was created to oppose Christianity; like Black Sabbath said, "hey, I know what we can do to oppose Christ, let's play with distorted guitars". Most of the Satanic bands didn't come into existence until decades later (which by your logic would mean they were doing the exact thing you claim the Christians did, utilizing a new medium to spread their message). I've only heard a few Christian metal bands and none of them were overtly preachy (most of them dealt with political issues, love, sadness, or whatever). In fact, they were far less willing to spread their love for Christ than the Satanic bands are to spread their love of Satan.
Later.

mean muuuuuuuuch more to metal than bands like
CoF (hahahaha)
Dimmu Borgir
Immortal...
Because steel Prophet play metal and CoF play something that contains metal elements, OK?Originally posted by enitharmon
Why, why, WHYYYY?
I don't understand that. Why are Steel Prophet better or have more to offer to metal than CoF??? At least CoF have their own style (no matter if hilarious or not)
By the way, I consider as satanismus everything that LaVey said, and these black metal bands tell me nothing (and I am gonna say it until I die, Dimmu Borgir are the biggest posers I have ever seen live!!!!!!!!!)(Simon excepted).
Analog, most of the things that are nowadays told about christianity have nothing to do with what Jesus said at the first place! So, I don't see why I should bother about bands that want to convince about THEIR interpratation of the bible.
