Barre chords?

I suppose you can't expect much musical knowledge from a pos fanboy

well, its easy to see how he would be confused about the beginning of april ethereal...afterall, it is the same bar chord...just moved up and down the fret-board...so its kind of like a power chord in that sense....and its one of the opeth riffs ever...imo...

Didn't Still Life have like, 7?

Yeah. He must be confused. I still don't know why people rate MAYH so highly. I mean, the concept is kinda cool I guess, but the music is just not as good as any of the other albums, except for maybe Orchid.

One of the Opeth riffs ever? :erk:

Wow. Did the Gildenlöws rape your mother or why are you so bitter when it comes to POS?

The thread wasn't regarding the news update, it was mostly regarding the organ and opeth selling out! I think I did the same thing when Damnation was coming, so eh. :)

Yes, we all know that the record lable means everything about the band's sound

I generally judge an album's value based on how many tracks it has, especially before it comes out :Smug:

Oh and also, they took my suggestion on recording a new album. Ever since the beginning of their last tour I was like, "man, they should definitely do another album after this tour is done." And guess what, they listened! I'm still negotiating how much money I'll be getting for this but they didn't return my calls yet :erk:

You guys are so moronic sometimes.. -_-

The fact is, Opeth has never used church organ or bells. I thought it would be a cool idea, everyone else was AGAINST it, yet Opeth decided to use the organ and bells. That's why everyone else is inferior to me. :) I am the TRUEkvlt OPETH FAN.

I think some well placed Church Bells (or bells of any kind) would really be awesome in Opeth's music. Agalloch used some bells in one of their songs (can't think of which right now), but it really fits in and adds a lot to the atmosphere. Tool's Schism also has great use of bell sounds (I'm pretty sure they aren't actually bells being played, but they sounds a lot like 'em anyway) during the quiet break towards the later half of the song.

Damn, Opeth with bells will probably kick ass.

Edit: The bells in the Agalloch song are in She Painted Fire Across the Skyline (Part III) about 3 minutes in.
