My favorite Shakespeare is Hamlet, although I haven't read some of the major ones like Macbeth.

i swear hamlet contains everything. every philosophical movement which came after it, every piece of literature that came after it, everything. the more i learn and the more times i read hamlet the clearer this becomes. i'm sympathetic towards harold bloom's whole 'shakespeare invented the modern human' idea too.

You should read some of his stuff, like The Marriage of Heaven and Hell and his other prophetic works. He's seriously nothing short of genius. You would especially like his interpretation of Milton's Satan.
