Controversial opinions on metal

Protest the Hero are fucking awesome. Sorry if you disagree. Maybe you should listen to more monotone music with absolutely no progression of any sort that just plays the same riff for 10 minutes with some abysmal Ozzy Osbourne wannabe moaning cliched stalker lyrics, ok?

Rofl. Oh okay.

Funny thing is Pat Walker sounds nothing like Ozzy and they're definitely not stalker lyrics once you take the goddamn emotional context they're sung in. I feel like I'm talking to a fucking two year old every time I deal with your posts.

Best doom metal of the past few years is probably The Fall of Every Season - From Below btw

Not even doom

Saying riff-smithing is a lisp just waiting to happen. Gay as hell, just like that band. Riffcraft is a superior term.

Hamburgerboy hates every band ever. He has never completely liked anything. His supernatural ability to find fault in everything and anything that exists has left him in a permanent state of apathy. Forever. And ever. He wanders like a ghost searching for decent music and stuff but he will never find it. One shitty album after another, they taunt him, even in his dreams they haunt him! Screaming like mad banshees in his ears he cries out in agony "Why do these shitty bands haunt me? I plee to you in the heavens send them from my ears!!! Damn them, damn them all to hell!!!". Relief is never found, he will continue onward forever. This is the saga of Hamburgerboy.

If you said that after a post of mine regarding some shitty traditional-metal-for-black-metal-hipsters-band like Manilla Road you might have a point, but really, after Protest the Hero? I haven't even listened to them tbh. I just called them gay because other people were. I know that they're one of those deathcore bands people love to hate. I'd probably love them.

EDIT: Oh, Wikipedia says they aren't even deathcore. Hmmm...

I don't even listen to much black metal anymore, yet I love Manilla Road soooo

But you're a self-admitted hipster ("hipster with a cute face" IIRC) so it still counts.

EDIT: And saying you don't listen to much black metal anymore is like saying to a Nazi that you aren't even a practicing Jew.

EDIT #2: That song wasn't bad at all. Much better than Warning.

Bravo, bravo!

holy crap thats awful

That's a nice way to put it. I would describe it as a pile of shit, vomit, and menstrual fluid transformed into sound.

Lord Weird Slough Feg's Down Among the Deadmen is better than any entire Manilla Road album.

For real, homes.

Actually, I never really thought Manilla Road were particularly special. They're not awful, just pretty much made entirely of "meh". It's not as if they're Cirith Ungol, for Christ's sake!
