I can't take any ska-influenced punk seriously (or ska in general for that matter). The Sex Pistols are pretty meh but I have a guilty pleasure for The Exploited and Cock Sparrer. Anyway, I guess I'll contribute since I'm a pretty big hardcore nut.

I can appreciate punk musical influences- I'd say Weakling and maybe even Ash Borer display certain punk-ish chord progression tendencies while still remaining metal. The punk vocal style is about as hard of a turnoff as anything. Isis is a good example. Amazing music, but the yelling/shouting style especially on the earlier albums is far too reminiscent of punk... I can just barely tolerate it enough to appreciate the music...
