I haven't actually ever listened to Nevermore.
Yngwie ranges from mediocre to utter shite from what I've heard from him.

Still way better than Trivium.

Nah. Trivium are at least half gobshite, but they can actually write songs that aren't just an excuse to masturbate all over their guitars. Being listenable wins.
His mid 80's to early 90's stuff has fantastic songcraft.Yngwie also writes songs that are not all about his guitars.. listen to the video above to begin. There are multiple eras of Yngwie.
Dio called. Yngwie can keep the shitty fucking song, but he better watch his ass.Yngwie also writes songs that are not all about his guitars.. listen to the video above to begin. There are multiple eras of Yngwie.

Motherfucker, he has a 1978 demo with songs just as if not nerdier than that. He was diddling with that crap before Dio was even formed.Dio called. Yngwie can keep the shitty fucking song, but he better watch his ass.
The closest he's come in the modern era to his previous greatness is Perpetual Flame, which I'd rank alongside The Seventh Sign.Yeah I'd go mid 90's even. Magnum Opus has some excellent songs.
I would really love to make fun of that.Motherfucker, he has a 1978 demo with songs just as if not nerdier than that. He was diddling with that crap before Dio was even formed.

I dunno, to my ears, it's pretty great.Have not heard that one, I'll definitely check it out.
Cute, I'll be going now that you appear to have exhausted anything in your reserves you may have had resembling an argument.I would really love to make fun of that.

Yep, Tim "Ripper" Owens was yet another addition to the already absurdist catalogue of great singers he's worked with. Mark Boals, Joe Lynn Turner, Goran Edmän, Michael Vescera, Mats Levén, etc., he's got a wondrous ear for superlative, powerful clean vocalists. I guess its symptomatic of his general technical perfectionism.First impression: man Yngwie has a knack for finding good vocalists in general. Sort of like Ozzy and finding guitarists.
