Well, I've never heard opeth played in an elevator, so i guess that discounts it for starters.
Also, you said don't be blinded by your emotions eno, well muzak is not eant to create emotions and seeing is you just stated that they have created an emotion in the listener you contradicted yourself.

I like Crimson a ton more than that of Light Of Day, Day Of Darkness.
I can sit down and listen to Crimson ten times,and it won't get boring. The first time I heard LODDOD is got boring about ten minutes in. The opening is really good, you can feel it real well,and then "blah!" is just dies. The fifteen minute woman part is rather annoying in my opinion.
Crimson owns its ass all over the place, period.

I'll have to agree with loddod being boring, i finally sat through 35 minutes of it, forcefully for the first time this weekend. When that chick starts shreaking over the pan bamboo flute or whatever the fuck that is i turned it off...Sorry
