Steven must be making a fucking killing if he can afford to pay someone $2340/hr to stuff envelopes!
I call bullshit on the "and handling" nonsense. If I go to the hardware store and ask someone who works there to help me find a pack of screws and they pull it off the shelf and hand it to me, I don't get charged a $5 handling fee. That stuff is covered by the markup on the product itself.
yeah, this clearly should have been sent via PM, not made public... giving Slate a chance to resolve your question with him directly. this type of public "calling-out" is bit low class on your part, especially given that you never once indicated that you had privately asked this question and had been ignored.
kudos to you for being observant, and certainly it's a good thing to be frugal with every penny these days, but try turning this same scrutiny on your own judgment and maybe you'll see why some of us are so taken aback by your post, irrespective of any merit your claim may or may not have.
i may or may not have gotten upset as well if i hadn't known previously of the charge..... but i'd at least PM him first.
