Altars Of Madness has a different tone. Perhaps you should check that one out. Which one(s) have you heard?

Heretic also has a different tone, but that one kind of sucks. i think covenant is one of the best

I've been listening to Covenant a lot lately, I like the tone on it, their palm mutes aren't really as chunky as say Cannibal Corpse though.

Recording as we speak actually. A new Morbid Angel record is probably alongside with Opeth the only release from a currently active metal band that i'm actually looking forward to.

Wintersun - Time should be pretty sweet as well.
And Orphaned Land are hopefully gonna release ORwarriOR sometime soon.

Here are some suggestions:
1. Start at the beginning
2. Move around until you find the coolest band or album name, get that, and go from there.
3. (for D&D nerds) Divide into blocks of 100, roll probably a d4 to determine the block and then a d100 to pick the album.

Never did enjoy 'brutal' vocals ala Suffocation. Didnt like Obit's voice, have blessed are the sick from MA--good stuff. Will check out Brutality
