So is the new Obtiuary good? Keep in mind I'm a fan in general. I'm not sure I want to buy it though... I feel like neither they or relapse deserve a fucking dime for the album. Fans funded the recording session and expenses TOTALLY and they still signed and released it with relapse records. Why the fuck did fans need to fund it anyway? You're a legendary death metal band, any label would have gladly funded it, big or small.

Agreed. Obituary is one of my favorites. This was a vast improvement over the previous two albums.

The songs ripped live when I saw Obituary. That was such a killer set.

I saw someone on Facebook list it as one of their top 25 albums for this year, I can't fathom how someone could like it more than even the "generic" underground DM I post in this thread.

I'm sure you will. I still need to give it a couple more spins before I can rank it in their discography but I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up on the 2nd or 3rd place.

Actually, the more I think about it the more I think it would be in my top 5 as well.
