I listened to a track and half and decided I wanted to hear nothing more of it. If it sounds ANYTHING like those 2 tracks, then I'll hate it. I'm not going to bother giving it a listen when I know there's a lot more stuff I haven't heard yet that I know I will like. No sense dwelling on the negative.

Just because you don't like them doesn't mean that one is a "rip off" of the other. Plus, perhaps if you listened to the whole record instead of turning off after 30 seconds your thinking would be clearer. It's asinine to suggest that in 2014 Tompa sounds anything like Anders Friden.

The two records have nothing in common. One is an outstanding melodic death metal record, while the other is a pile of numetal/rock garbage. How you could suggest they somehow sound similar is beyond me.

The last time I listened to In Flames was like 4 or 5 years ago and that's what it reminded me of. Just what I heard I guess. I still think it's garbage either way, whether it sounds like IF or not.

100% with you on that. DAL is their best, I think. I just have a soft spot for Mondo Medicale. It was the first gore grind album I ever heard. Such a fun band...

New At the Gates are great and I find them as Sweden's answer for Carcass (long time since they released an album and comes back with a great album). But Decapitated lost my interest after the first two albums.

New Decapitated sucks. Drowned is probably my favorite DM release from this year, At The Gates is good, and Hod is great.

I haven't heard the Drowned full length yet. I'm stoked to hear it all though. And Incantation, if I'm not mistaken, cannot write bad music. Their worst shit is still top shelf death metal

New ATG is pretty meh, still going to see them live with Grave in two weeks.

New BB just dropped, its no Fathomless Mastery but it sounds interesting after the first spin.
