Always a bit disappointing when such a large part of an EP is just cover material. At least they chose a good band.

They are exactly that. A really fun, rocking death/gore grind band. Check out "Anatomy is Destiny" and "Slaughtercult" to start, but you can't go wrong with anything they've done. Its fairly tongue-in-cheek gore metal, but man its fun. If you like them then you might try Impaled too

Slaughtercult has been one of my go to exercise albums for about a decade.

New At The Gates and Decapitated are both garbage. AtG sounds like a rip off of new In Flames. Same over-produced tone, same weak vocals. They innovated a sound, then a shitload of bands ripped them off, and now they sound like a weak copy of those shit bands. Decapitated sounds more like some awful proggy djent/groove tripe than death metal, which is great if you like penises in your anus.

Onto something that doesn't suck, Cardiac Arrest released a new track today!!

Sounded like it to me. I found them both completely unlistenable. I heard the first song AtG released and hated it. But I still gave the second one a chance. Turned it off a minute and a half into it. I'd rather listen to fucking Whitechapel or some other godawful shit. Same goes with Decapitated. They should have quit after Organic Hallusinosis. Stop trying to be Meshuggah/Pantera and let a once great band die.
