Yea and that extreme Demilich worship puts me off too. They're interesting and unique, but you know these kind of albums when you could just lose yourself in them and wonder where the time has gone when they're over, well Nespithe isn't one of those. I make it halfway through but then often switch to something else

I think they get praised because they were actually unique for the time compared to majority of death metal, and still are to this day compared to majority of death metal.

Acid Bath also had a very short life-span. I don't see nerarly as much priase for AB as I do for Demilich. or maybe I just don't hang around here long enough.

I like Demilich's vocals because they sort of sound like burping.

They sound something more of a thorat cancer patient with a voice box that is burping.

Creepmine sounds like a US death metal band mixed with Pestilence. I actually thought they were from the US until now.

Nespithe is good, but I liked the demo material better for some reason (The Four Instrcutive Tales of Decomposition), probably cause it sounds more hellish and intense.

I also think Slumber of Sullen Eyes is better than Nespithe. That being said I still enjoy Nespithe a fair bit.

well , they're also both Finnish having released their landmark albums in the early 90s. That's where similarities end.
And they have shared fanbases

There is probably 5 finnish death metal cds from the early 90's so everyone compares them all and everyone trys to figure out what one is the best. It's an endless battle!

My only problem with the album is it's really quite.

I hate that.

Another problem I have with it is that by the time the album's done, there's really nothing to differentiate the songs from one another.
