I'll say something in hull speak. Yu fukin wat m8. Bairns out larkin. You best not say owt or il kill yuh m8.


I can't believe I actually understood some of that.

Glasgow (Glesga slang):

"Hoi you! You lookin at ma burd? Ye better no be or a'll fuckin crack ye wan!"

or

"Och! Baith ma fecht ir sare!!"

Translations for you:

"Hey you! Are you looking at my girlfriend? You better not be or I'll punch you"

and

"oh! both my feet are sore"
 
I try so hard to be polite now because when I first moved here my accent was that thick people kept saying "Pardon?" "Sorry?" and "What?".

It had started to piss me off so much I started speaking very slowly and sounding every vowel and letter, and now I do it automatically :(

You can still hear the accent though ;)
