Doom Metal

Esoteric are good, but I like Metamorphogenesis the most I think. Mainly because it isn't overly long like the rest (haven't heard Subconscious yet though). I think the double albums are too much to listen to straight through.

I'm getting that when it comes out. any word on a US release date?

Metal Mind releases are usually available in USA pretty fast, 2-4 weeks max after the European release.

What exactly is the deal with all those tracks at the end? I have the Nuclear Blast reissue from a while ago that has both those recordings, but everything listed for this from track 13 onward is on neither of those and the titles don't ring any bells.

Actually, they're not even listed anywhere on Metal Archives. The hell?

Heh, the last 6 are not there, Metal Mind sent our fucked up production information. The tracklisting is:

1. Oppression Freedom
2. Servants Of The Warsmen
3. Goden
4. Power And Might
5. Destiny
6. Eternal Frost
7. Into Darkness
8. Servants Of The Warsmen
9. Eternal Frost
10. Winter
11. Blackwhole
12. Manifestation I (hidden track)

So, CD + MCD in one splendid digipack format.

Ok, the new Boris record blows. Smile is nowhere near how excellent Pink was. The guitar tone is terrible along with the overall sound, the vocals are atrocious and quite gay.

For Esoteric: Epistemological Despondency, The Pernicious Enigma or perhaps the latest one.

I love doom metal, cool to see a dedicated thread on it. Some of my favourite doom bands:

Skepticism
Thergothon
Unholy
Esoteric
Sunn O)))
Khanate
Candlemass
Ahab
Profetus
Agalloch
Vo Skorbyah

Haha, figures that Metal Mind would do that. Well hopefully this version will have more in the liner notes than the lame-ass NB digipack that had NONE.

Nuclear Blast's reissues tend to be super fucking gay, unfortunately, which is why I'm glad someone other than Nuclear Blast (namely Proscriptor's label) licensed the rights to the Divine Eve material. It's sad though, their original releases (Revenant, Sinister, Divine Eve, etc.) were actually pretty well done.

i'm listening to "the scarlet tapestry" by thorns of the carrion. very good somber funeral doom. great atmosphere.
