Yes, it's my first time voting, and all the politicians in my electorate have been sending me letters, and therefore are now all my friends.

I was thinking about this today, but in what is basically a two-party system, whoever it is than wins will only have a 1 - 4 % margin. That means that 46 - 49% of the country did not vote for them! When you think about it, that's a fair amount.

There really is no better way to do it though, if we start making rules where a government needs 65% to be elected (for example), we'd never get anywhere.

Just a few thoughts, hehe. I have a lot of time on my hands these days.

The general policies of the 2 parties are essentially the same.
It's not like 49% are voting for communism and the over 51% for a dictatorship.
Australia is lucky in the sense that either of the major political parties would be able to create a 'relatively' stable form of government.

Elections are gay. You know it's not compulsary to vote,only to get your name marks off,what you do with the ballot papers are up to you. I suggest writing 666 in every box,that'll give em something to think about.not really,but it's amusing.
