Favorite Final Fantasy game?

That FFVII cover song that Plankis posted a while back brough back a bunch of memories of that game
I was surprised at how many other people on here played it. It being my favorite game of all time, i'm curious as to how many people play the Final Fantasy series, and what your favorite of the series was.


sorry this is not quite "ultimate metal" material, but i have to say that the FF series has some of the most memorable music in any game to date

Every one was a classic/stepping stone in the RPG genre that peaked with FF VII. So, FFVII (edit: fixed 6 to 7!)

Personaly, I think the first Dragon Warrior game is one of the first RPG's that set the tone for years to come, along with Magma, and Phantasy Star I & II

VII. VI is very good, as is III ( released only in Japan, NOT the US III which is really VI ).

I think its more that 7 set a benchmark that the others have struggled to follow. There was just something inherently epic and awesome about that story. It was one of those rare times when things just kinda worked. Kinda like Slaughter of the Soul, Heartwork or the black album (its production anyway).
