Guitar Player's Thread

I won't  But if Jani or Chris broderick or crazyvibrato Vai use it I guess it's not all bad, wouldn't it?

I had an Edge III myself, and while it's true that it kept the tuning pretty well, I couldn't do much tremelo stuff (e.g. fluttering) because the tremolo bar is quite loose and gets easily loosened if you try tightening it, so I want to know if there are differences between both :)
Oh I actually encountered the same loose tremolo bar problem last month, but I just tightened it so much that's it's quite stiff now when i put it in. and when I flutter now, it doesn't get loose at all. so maybe you just have to tighten it more than usual.

 Well, may be because I played it, but it automaticaly clicks a "fuck you crapped it" button inside my brain. I'm still pretty proud of it though, particularly of the slow part and the arpeggios :D
haha, yeah, I know what you mean. i guess when you're the one playing it, you will always see the mistakes no matter what.

Not only that, but I also found out Gearbox tends to suddenly make a lot of background noise, with no obvious reason, and then I have to close it, unplug the toneport, re-plug the tone port, and open Gearbox again. Not the thing you'd want to do during a show.

But Jani uses the pod! at least in these YG demonstrations he does :p

Jani Liimatainen is by far one of my favourite guitar player:worship:
But the only thing I hate it's his tone in some video:yuk:

Dude, you can't say "old" when referring to a music recommendation, not everything is a fucking 4chan meme.

But aye I will admit that shit is seriously generic... And I still hate Kotipelto's voice, it's proper twat.

Hi!

I was thinking of purchasing some new recording equipment (for example Line6 POD or something) and I was thinking if you guys could recommend something and tell a bit about your equipment and what's good/bad. Maybe even upload some soundclips or something?

Well... I had a Line6 POD 2.0 a few years ago and it was really good but don't gave me the distortion sound I needed. It just have the typical Line6 Spider I,II,III distortion but really cool effects. If you need some good sound without byuing new stuff, go for some impulse files or so. If you want to check out my Rebel Yell, LDB or HCDR on Youtube you can hear that the sound is awesome and both are made with ReValver.

That has never ever happened to me :ill:

Trust me, I had it and played quite a lot with the tremolo, and even if I tightened it like hell, after 5-15 flutters it'd be loose again. Maybe it was because of the constant use.

Agreed. About Cain's offering, it has some nice songs, but lacks things that really hook you except for particular bits. I mean, Morpheus... or Oceans Of Regret or Stolen Waters are really nice, but after you've listened to them there's nothing that you remember automatically. And...

And I still hate Kotipelto's voice, it's proper twat.

Couldn't agree more. He's ruined quite some songs for me :erk:

Yeah, after hearing the first line of 'More Than Friends' the cringe factor was just too great. "We're more than friends, We are like lovers"

 but I love Jani's playing in Sonata.

Yep, lyrics are quite cheesy at times, but Jani's done some nice work.

About his playing in Sonata, actually is something I'm kinda worried about. Sonata's new album is about to come out and the Make Off for Flag In The Ground sounds somewhat nice, but I don't know how will Elias fit the spot that Jani left in the studio. Well, I should have the "The Last Amazing Grays" single here in 2-3 days, then I'll start to see how it looks, and then album a bit later.

Both those songs are really nice, especially Amazing Grays... but the album (from what I've heard) lacks much lead guitar at all and he's just playing rhythm which is sad.

Have you heard them already? :ill: About the album dunno, I think I'm still gonna order it, but it's going to be sad if there aren't leads, that'll be quite a letdown and a point Jani, negative point Elias.

There is a HQ version of Flag in the Ground on YT somewhere. (I can't get on @ work to find it for you) but IMO it sounds like an attempt at a victorias secret style song. Which could be a good thing depending on how you look at it. I will deffo check out the album.

Never been too much into SA though.

Although I do think Jani is leet as fook. Met him @ Bloodstock 2004 while I was hanging out with Gavin (Ex-Alestorm) and told him how epic his Young Guitar demo is.

^ I just heard it.
I think they were right when they said it was a mix of Unia and their older stuff.
Most SA fans will like it.

EDIT: I just saw the "Making of" video for Flag In The Ground and it looks great!

^I knew the making of was around, but didn't know the actual song was on YouTube too :ill:

Yep, he's a pretty good player and seems like a nice person.

anyone here try out the Propellerhead Record program? I have a code from Line 6 that allows me to try it, but I don't wanna install it until my computer is fixed.
if you've tried it, let me know if it's a good program.

I dropped my RX10 and my Edwards of at the music shop last night. Getting them restrung and the innotation/trem redone because I am far too lazy to do it myself.
Plus the guy who does it is a pro who will do it 1000x better than me.

I miss my babies already :(

So atm I am rocking out on Kitty
