Guitar Player's Thread

Dude its epic. Sounds like Final Fantasy music. You need to get that guitar recorded and maybe some DKFH drums

Fantastic! You know I really dig your stuff :kickass:

!

Thanks... still a bit rough though :)

Fuck DKFH, that shit needs SD 2.0 at least :kickass:

I used DKFH for my demo cause I never got SD 2.0 to work... going to try again though. Has anyone tried Superior Drummer 2 The Metal Foundry expansion pack?

Hey guys, sorry I havent been around much (not like you missed me :p). I've been hanging out with friends... studying electronics hardcore... getting my wisdom teeth out...

Anyway, I have a question for anyone here that owns a Lee Jackson GP-1000. Do you know any of the technical specifications of the circuit? Ie: values of cathode bias resistors/bypass caps, plate load resistors... etc, that kind of thing. I am going to be building myself a tube preamp here soon and I would like to get a similar voicing to the GP-1000 (big surprise right? This being a CoB forum and all...). Even if you dont know anything about electronics, a couple Hi-Res photos of the circuit could help me. If I cant get any useful information I'm probably going to base my design off of the ENGL E530 or Fireball :) Thanks guys!

Ps. Sorry if any of that sounded retarded, I just got the wisdom teeth out a few hours ago and I'm still a bit drugged up...

i need some advice. i'll be getting a M-Audio Firewire Solo soon... and i was wondering if there is any difference of active/passive pickup if i set my gear as Guitar > Firewire > GuitarRig > Pro Tools... would the pre-amp of the Firewire be good enough for a passive pickup? or an active would be better?

since it's an input for guitars(like it says on the interface), a passive pickup should be ''good enough''.

Makes no difference, If it has an instrument input then It will work the way it's supposed to regardless of what pickups you have. You should decide on the type of pickup based on what kind of sound you like.

Halihalo, I'm searching tabs for the following song. The band is a former project of Jari: Lost Alone - Memory
Or there is somebody here who wants to tab it ;). At least the Solo starting at 2:13.

Edit: Yeah, I tabbed 2:03 to 2:22...

kudos both, awesome riff indeed

any exercises or tips for tranning ears? or just hear the shit up?

Caparison's look so fucking nice, except they all either have a weird ass finish that pisses me off or else they make an awesome guitar like this and weird it out by making it 27 frets!

GRRR, hopefully someday I'll get real awesome at guitar and get an endorsement deal and make a sick signature model with them ......yea right

I would buy Chris Amott's guitar if I had the money, I dont even care that it has the arch enemy symbol on it. It looks fucking sick!
