Guitar Tone Competition 3: Files and rules

noise is BAD!!!! :( :( :( mamma:(
Think of it as a girl is gonna give you a blowjob, but you don't understand what she's saying because your buddy is farting you in the face.. Get it?

Now that is some f#cked up noise.

Incidentally I am not experiencing any guitar signal noise in between the riffs, must be because I'm on Windows ME and maxed out on 4gb video ram.

Thanks :D

I've got to ask, hows TSE X50 going?

It sounds pretty good as it is right now, but you'll have to wait for the next generation of processors to arrive to be able to run it:erk:
I'm tired of the whole project and I need a break, I started on a stereo tubescreamer project a couple of days ago.. 3 in 1 .. Maxon OD808, TS808 & TS-9 in one plugin.. I have to see how it works out, at least the Maxon is getting in there:loco: Sorry if this is a disappointment, I just need something else to work with at the moment
Back to the X50: The quality I'm going for needs a hardcore processor and that's not available for everyone yet..

Onqel - just realease it! PLEASE.... And the people who complain about CPU utilization can just STFU and buy a new machine!

Sorry - back on topic... :)

Bobby

Onqel, sorry to keep going off topic, but I read that you were working on making X30 available for mac... Any news on that?

All done with mine.... BUT- are we allowed to cut off the empty space before and after the supplied tracks? Or are you guys gonna take care of that.

If not I'll just render the whole thing.

I don't see a reason why removing the noise from the beginning and end wouldn't be allowed if automation etc is allowed. Just as long as it doesn't affect the performance parts in any way.

I'm in, did a quick mix last night.

BTW - are we/can we master it too or do you want it left completely as is?

YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO:
-------------------------

- Modify the composition or edit the performance on the supplied di-tracks.
- Edit or process the backing track in any way.
- You have to make the guitar tones fit the supplied drums, vocals and bass. - (You have been left 12db of headroom for the guitars).
- Add any additional instruments.
- Use any master bus processing.

Ermz,

I already ran a few test reamps and I really think that these vocals are too dark for the rest of the mix, especially when you get some bright, crunchy guitars in there. They are definitely not on par in high end content with most favored metal mixes around here too. Check it out for yourself.

But I think you can consider this like an aditional challenge:D

I've finished my version now! I'm uploading it to dropbox and will send the link off tonight, I'm also not sure if we are allowed to master it, so I have left mine un-mastered, but its quiet, and doesn't sound as good as it did when it was mastered :(

I got my Re-amp box going tonight, so I gave this a quick bash tonight. I've never really had much of a chance to play around with mic positions and such, it's a pretty badass song. The playing is tight and there's not much noise going on at all.

I'd actually be quite interested to know what guitar/pickup combo was used.
