Just wondering how many of us have had the honor. And many more will soon!

I talked to everyone except Mikael (can you fucking believe that?! ) after their first time through Virginia. They were soooo nice and approachable! I basically snuck backstage and I was afraid they'd be pissed, but they were so welcoming. All smiles! Mikael was sitting on the bus being anti-social though. That punk! I kept talking to Mendez for some reason, and I thought he was acting kind of aloof -- only later did I find out his English isn't great. It was loud too, so he probably had no idea what I was saying.

But it's so refreshing when a band doesn't act like a bunch of rockstar pricks.

Yes, I have met them, but oddly enough, the only one I never really spoke to was Mendez! Weird huh? He was the one who seemed to have the rockstar attitude to me, he was rather unapproachable. But now that you say he doesn't speak english well, that may explain why!!

Of all of the band, Peter was by far the coolest. We had an awesome chat about some guitar gear and then he got the rest of the band to get together so I could take some pics of them. He was actually going to take me into the tour bus with the band to get the pics, but they all disappeared! But we eventually found them all.

Opeth definitely rules!

You know those things you always regret. I mean, those things you can think about an in like 2 minutes you feel the regret of the whole situation coming back to you and you feel terrible all over again. Yeah, well...that's what this post does to me.

I walked up to a table that the band was sitting at and went numb. Mike didn't want to look at anyone...so he didn't. I got a nice big smile from Lopez and Mendez and PETE! Holy shit. I know, even from not speaking a word to this guy, that he is THE MAN. I could tell before I got up on the thingy there they had them up on. Like some sort of little stage but not really a stage. Peter was talking and sitting up and looking at everyone and being so fucking cool. They were giving out autographs. It was just too much. I couldn't function. I was at the highest point of just loving the hell out of the band and then <<BANG>> there they are. Right in front of me. I blew my (probably) only chance to speak directly to them. I may never have a chance to get that close to them again. Some freak and shake hands like crazy some play it cool and some do what I do. Just freeze.

Yeah...I hate/love that memory.

yea I met them all, they were very nice. I agree that Peter seemed to be the coolest. Bassist Martin is a petite guy, like 5'5" or something and very thin.

Peter reminds of some porn star whose name I don't know, he has long wavey dirty blonde hair.

I think Mikael isn't much of a people person, judging from his mannerisms and shit he's said in interviews.

Maybe Peter and mr. Wallace are distant relatives. I have a friend who could pass for their love child, he plays guitar too, and I'm pretty sure he also has sex on a regular basis. Coincidence? I think not.
