how do you guys survive this summer?

I think humans just fear, period.

Are you talking about plate tectonics? Isn't that just a theory us scientific types thought up and is wrong because it is not taught by the church? :saint:

Still, there are very few things in nature that happen fast. Plate tectonics, evolution and natural climate shift patterns take lots of time. Though we can't be conclusive about climate change, it just seems to be happening faster than what nature usually allows.

I guess there really is something to having ocean front property in Arizona.

Hahahahaha

Yeah, I think not a single one of us is going to be around to find out who is right on this, but given that it is a possibility that our actions are having an effect, we should definitely be taking precautionary steps.

i don't really think grain will help 60 million people survive

well, if we limit the meat we eat and give the grain to people, why dont we just eat the meat, and give meat to the 60 million people? we have artificial burgers, too... so like... do you have anything against veggy burgers or tofu burgers how bout a nice salad (which can be considered a vegetable holocaust)? if we limit the amount of plants used to make those, then perhaps the air would be cleaner... or maybe the plants that were slaughtered in the process could have been used to feed the 60 million people that COULD eat plants, or could get away from the poor areas they are living in and go somewhere that HAS food. if Moses and a bunch of Jews supposedly wandered around the desert for several decades, why can't 60 million poor, homeless, starving people travel to the next closest town and save themselves?

1.we cant get the meat to 60 million people, each cow takes up so much space, where would they all go? its easier to grow crops to eat than to grow crops to feed cows to eat.
2.why would i have anything against veggie burgers? salad isnt a "vegetable holocaust."
3. what town would be able to handle a rush of 60 million more people? where would they go? and just because someone goes hungry doesnt mean that they're homeless.
4. "plants that were slaughtered in the process could have been used to feed the 60 million people that COULD eat plants." exactly my point.

all i was saying is that the meat industry is a major contributor to humans pollution to the planet, along with other problems, and by changing our diets we can change the world.

I don't mind the heat, not all that hot here in Cleveland (not like Houston where I used to live). I just wish the sun shined a little more, damn, I read in the paper that last year we had 300+ grey days. For a southern boy like me that is just insane....

meat is good, and if millions of people didnt starve to death this planet would be even more overpopulated. wanna end hunger? tell people to stop having kids they cant feed.

good point, give free birth control in africa and china and kick the catholic church out of there so they actually use the birth control. (no offence to any catholic person)

im all for promoting birth control and stopping unwanted children from being born (ha, that sounds horrible), but people shouldnt have to suffer while they're still alive.

Right now, its really hot during the day, and we get thunderstorms every night. I've heard all of you guys out on the east coast have a storm system basically stuck over your heads!

Yeah it sucks. But last night around sunset my friends and I went to Point Lookout (my favorite ocean beach on Long Island) and we went swimming. I was longing for a surfboard. The storm systems make good weather for that at least. I don't know, it was beautiful. It seems the afternoons are sunny and warm, mornings and nights, rainy, rainy.

is someone in here bitching about meat?

im not fucking bitching about it, i was pointing out how the industry contributes so much to global warming and that if people care enough to do something, they should cut back on their meat intake.

Kerry did you see what I said about sea algae?

yeah. but massive amounts of sea algae isnt exactly the best thing for the planet either. if theres an overabundance, light cant reach plants that live under the surface, and that just totally throws off the food chain.

3 acres isnt much by itself, but in the united states alone, estimates say as many as 35 million beef cattle are slaughtered. thats a shit load of land.
