how many albums do you have in your music collection?

i´m not a collector, and i have about 150+ albums. but in my opinnion it´s not the number of the collection but the personal importance of it... and i agree of the fact that mp3 should never count.

Mp3's don't count.

~~~~~
I haven't counted in a couple of years but I have:
~300 LP's
~350 CD's
~150 7"s
~125 tapes
Unfortunately due to budget constraints (I'm a broke ass student) my collection hasn't grown much. Don't have the liberty/finances to music nerd.
quite a lot of collectible stuff in the CD's and vinyl (there are a couple of repeats, mainly Opeth, where I own both formats)
lol @ everyone agreeing with that, who cares
you're splitting hairs between 'having' and 'owning' while the end result is exactly the same: listening to music.
it's just another avenue for anti-piracy zealots to try and make their trite point
the bottom line is, not everyone does, so your hypothetical is meaningless
Thanks for that captain obvious!
But the point is that its not out of the question that one day piracy will be so widespread, that it will seriously start to impact artists that we love....
The point is, I buy as much as I can, and download the rest. When I get more money, I buy ones I've already downloaded. In the end, the same artists are makign teh same amount of money, and I get more music regardless.
Downloading loads of stuff is one thing. Parading it around as if it's some huge accomplishment (as you constantly do) is another. I can have twice your "collection" by tomorrow if I were so inclined. Big fucking deal.
its not a trite point. where does one cross the line? just music? people now download movies for free. whats next, just straight up stealing food from a grocery store? your reasoning being "i was hungry"? the point is, you have no leg to stand on in this debate. its illegal, but you can get away with it for now. with no guilt towards the artists or the industry either obviously. so whatever, but dont make people of morality out to be morons, paying for things you want isnt something to "lol" at.
edit: and yes, nobody is impressed by how many albums anyone can download. its on par with saying you can pick your nose better than anyone else.
lol @ constantly
I've posted the actual amount twice maybe three times
any other mention of the collection is directly conducive to me telling some shit taste noob that I know more about music than him as a point of argumentation, not bragging
thats hearing more music. that doesnt mean you know more about music. youve downloaded sounds and file names. no lyrics, biographies, band lineups, record labels, etc. just fyi...not pointing you out specifically here really shadows.
you're right about something nfu, namely that I don't have a leg to stand on in the MORAL debate
but I'm not attempting to justify it, because I don't care, so all of these points (which are absolutely trite, look up the word) are basically moot
alright. i just get a little ticked off when people say "LOL @ buying albums". i think morality or band support isnt something to ever laugh at...especially concerning music and supporting artists you enjoy. period.
Lars was right from the beginning.
He said outloud what 99% of musicians believe in silence.
I am amazed by how music is taken for granted by the new generation.
How many 15 years old take the time to dig into an album today ?
Fuck Shuffle I Pods.
But anyway Cds are fucked since we have 40 or 50 years of oil tops.
By the way,buy Metallica albums, Lars wants to buy some new Basquiat for his mansion.
