Howard wins!

This election was a very tough call. We had to choose between Mr Magoo (Howard) or Fred Flinstone (Beazley) to screw the country over for the next three years.

I'm a Laborite personally, but I was giving serious thought to voting for the Democrats this time round, simply because I had no faith in Beazley's policies (or lack of them). It was far too easy to picture him shouting "YABBA-DABBA-DOO!" and sliding down the tail of a brontosaurus at the end of every parliamentary session.

Eventually I did vote Labor, as they would have been second preference on the Democrats' how to vote card anyway.

You have to remember that no government is perfect. Every leader, regardless of which side he/she represents is going to make some very unpopular decisions and follow through with them just so they can line their pockets.

The best government, for this or any country, is none at all. Likewise, the only laws should be those that are agreed on by the people and settled in the street with a handshake.

Anarchy wears two faces, my friends, creator and destroyer. We must destroy all the systems that have gone before and failed, then learn from history's mistakes before we can create something that truly benefits everyone.

I too was seriously thinking of voting for the Democrats. But that all changed the moment Miss Natasha opened her mouth.
Dumb blonde bitch.

Through fiscal policy the Government can play a part on the interest rates, but the small changes we are seeing know are thanks to the RBA.
The use of fiscal policy, at least in the last two or three years, has had very little effect on the interest rates; it's been pretty much exclusively the RBA. At least I think so ...... :)

As for the election, I'm glad Howard won. The Liberals have done an excellent job w/ the economy, and Howard seems to have made a few choices in the last year or two that I have though were good decisions. I figure, he's done pretty well so far, let's keep him in the job; and Beazley hasn't shown me anything that would change my opinion.

I'm all for Hoawrd pollitically, but socially,no.We can't send him to other countries,he's such a little pansy. We need to send someone tough overseas instead of him so people think "shit, them aussies are tough",someone like Steve Irwin,or maybe Paul Harrigan. Seriously,we need to extract johnny's brain and put in someone tough, then no one would mess with us.

man i talk some shit.

Steve Irwin as PM, HAHAHA.

Imagine:

Oi'm here in deepest Afganistaaan and Oi've tracked down the rare and dangerous Osarmar Bin Larden in one ove these caves. Oi'm gonna see if Oi can get a closer look.

*poke*

Oh he didn' like that and now he's really really angry. This is really dangerous stuff now. Oi'm gonna go and pick 'im up.
