It's a Cherokee, not the Grand Cherokee, but it does have the nine speed transmission. Admittedly, it makes me a little nervous too. That said, the inside is really well-appointed and I really like the exterior style. It's the six cylinder, so it actually has a bit of get up and go. So far I'm really digging it. A couple years back I owned a Jeep Liberty, which kicked all sorts of ass in bad weather.
Yeah, I do go through cars pretty quickly. I consigned myself long ago to just always having a car payment.
The Mustang was fun and I have nothing but good things to say about the product. However, getting in and out of that car first thing every morning was killing my 45 year old back. Beyond that, the wife is no longer working from home. So that means I would actually have had to take the Mustang to work during winter. Add in that we wanted something we could easily throw the dogs in or hitch the mountain bikes to, and this just became a pretty easy decision.
Interestingly, despite being much heavier (I think this thing ways nearly 2 tons), it's getting better mileage than the Mustang (24 vs 19).
