I call my roommate, who's Chilean, a spic, and he calls me "filthy kike" and other such terms of endearment. We've completely lost touch with political correctness. It's kind of frightening. Anyway, as one of the people who has the most to worry about when it comes to neo-Nazism, I'm personally not offended by Mike's constant references to Hitler being "teh win" and such. Because I know it's not that he's really a white supremacist; he just lacks wit. Also he's gay, but that's neither here nor there. And I agree with NAD that throwing these "unacceptable words" around like they mean nothing is best way to ensure that they do, indeed, come to mean nothing.
HOWEVER: my weighty and informed opinion is that Pops is completely within his rights, as a staff member, to request a title change here. RC is a business, and it reflects pretty fucking horribly on them to have a word that is pretty damned offensive to many people on the front page. He can't censor the discussion, but I think that it's basic courtesy to just change the damn title so we can get back to spewing racial epithets and doing the Merry Jig-Killing Jig.

Well, I have a steph daughter that's half somalian, so I reserve the right to use the word "my pals" as often as I wish. Not that I will, most probably, but still...

And that's really the main issue, how incredibly aware people are of skin-colour. People need to get a "I'm black/yellow/white and I don't care" kind of attitude.
