i am not saying DO NOT QUESTION your own principles and EVOLVE i am just saying DO NOT GIVE UP ANYTHING YOU HAD RESEMBLING PERSONAL INTEGRITY AND INNER FIRE IN FAVOUR OF FITTING INTO A MOLD SOMEONE ELSE MADE

in other words FUCK SOCIETY

I agree with that ... except the "fuck society" part ... we ALL are part of society ... if you think about it.
Everyone's little individuality is what makes it interesting.

But really Erik, and knowing from living before in areas of the world like the one you currently live in ... those are the most dangerous types for you "finding yourself" so to speak ... the places where there is only one type of culture and everyone kind of thinks alike. Outside thinking is shunned.

And this brings us back full circle, RC style, to the city vs rural living.

EDIT ... you said ... "cute"

Everytime I think...do ALL people just sellout and turn lame when they get older? My mind then turns to Bikers. Man what a bunch of fuckin' great dudes they are, they fuckin' stuck to there guns all the way through old ages, no compromise. Thats a perfect example of what we're talking about. I love when we go to bars to see my friends bands play (most recently one of there GnR cover bands) and theres all these 50+ year old bikers drinking beers and rockin' out. It's a great thing to see, and they talk to us like equals etc etc. Fuck yea.

To be honest, I completely agree with you. Bikers are a rare breed and fucking RULE. :kickass:

I raise a pint to them. :headbang:

most bikers, even the non-metalhead type, are still very nice people(kinda like people at a metal show). It's only like the biker gang types that aren't very friendly.

got news for you guys ... most bikers are only bikers on weekends and hold proper jobs and have pretty square lives.
ever watch those Sturgis documentaries

i do like the freedom of the life of a biker ... the 24/7 type ... do I look up to them? ... probably not.

Holding a proper job doesn't make you one of the weekend types im talking about.

But obviously i wasn't talking about "most bikers" anyways.

are you talking about this guy????

bikerchicks2004feb29.jpg

OR ... this guy? :loco:

people_Sturgis_biker.jpg

right on ... the first guy looks like he has some good balance on his life ...

the second guy ... well ... he is keeping it real

you can be still be a real biker and look either way

I refer to attitudes. Clothes do not make the man.

And the second dude... he isn't keeping it real. he's keeping it unreal in some fantasy world.

that is exactly my point ...

also going back to why "dressing" metal ... after a certain age ... well

EDIT ... let me edit this ... dressing metal DAILY after a certain age. :loco:

Dressing metal is for parties and shows and shit. Why do it at all? I dunno, cause it adds to the atmosphere/enjoyment. During the week, unless i'm feeling particularly "metal", i'm wearing jeans and a t-shirt with something funny on it.

I still dont' get whats so weird about "dressing metal"...jeans and a band shirt isn't really like WOAAAAAAAAH OUT OF THIS WORLD WILD AND CRAZY NEW STUFF!

there is nothing wrong with it ... but there should be a cut-off age where you should not be able to look like that on a daily basis :loco: (unless you are in a metal band and touring the world)
probably somewhere between 21-24 o_O :loco:

Nevaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar! You sound like a mean old grampa or somthing lurch:( Your just jealous because you don't look how you feeeeeeeeeeel!

Dio tells you -

STAND UP AND SHOUT!

hahahaha ....
i knew that was coming.

believe me at this point in my life its the last thing I want to look like.

metal is in the blood brutha ... not the outerwear :kickass:

@erik and tully: im not entirely sure what you guys are talking about. and i wouldnt consider myself a failure. quite successful actually. but that description is within my own paradigm. yours is obviously different. im not judging anyone for drinking endless amounts of alcohol, having long hair, or whatever it is you guys are saying is tRo0. if thats what you want to do, fine.
what i *am* saying is that MOST people will find that the older they get, the less interested they are in trying to "live a metal lifestyle". it gets kinda silly after awhile. in america, its not very funny to be poor and without health insurance because you cant get a good job because you refuse to wear a tie or cut your hair.

...and a word on bikers: yeah. the VAST majority of these guys are your typical "weekend warrior" who has a relatively high-paying job. do you know how much harleys cost? 15-20k in most cases. thats not chump change. you cant buy shit like that working at a factory. well, maybe thats the ONLY thing you can buy but that doesnt sound like a solid financial decision. live in a trailer, but ride a harely? whatever floats your boat.
