If Mort Divine ruled the world

Given the uncertainty surrounding a Trump presidency on the outset, I think he's managed to do very little in any direction. Much better than any possible prognostication on a Hillary presidency.

Bad points: Increased debt/deficit (par for the Presidential course, and not completely under his control).
Good points: Appointed a competent SecDef (directly under control), has not yet expanded/started any new kinetic wars (likely due to the SecDef). Appointed Gorsuch.

He won my vote for 2020 when he refused to parrot the MSM dichotomy of fascists vs anti-fascists regarding Charlottesville. Even if he manages no substantial or meaningful political actions, using his seat to promote controversial views and inspire new political support for the right causes is as good as anything.

Well the new story out on the Kavanaugh allegations makes it more likely something happened. But therapist notes from ~20 years later though with no corroborating evidence from time proximal to the event is still flimsy, with what we know about memory. Dems holding it until after the circus - to prolong the circus - is about par for the course from both sides of the aisle so the Repub outrage there is kind lol.

In my experience it's usually been a left-wing talking point but I'm not at all surprised that something like this would come from Richard Spencer. The video doesn't play for you? Plays for me. Try this one.

The whole virtuous pedophile meme comes directly from the left also, specifically those now deleted (but luckily archived) Salon articles written by a "non-active pedophile."

Good way of putting it. Family values politicians are usually caught with children or male prostitutes in a hostel, "get big money out of politics" politicians are usually caught up in some financial scandal.

I certainly do not want to see Kavanaugh get confirmed, but he probably will despite the new allegations. He's an extremist that thinks a sitting president is above the law.

Kavanaugh's probably not a great pick, but if Sonya "Whether born from experience or inherent physiological or cultural differences our gender and national origins may and will make a difference in our judging." Sotomayor is qualified, may as well have Kavanaugh in.

I'd prefer to have someone who is more of a centrist as the deciding vote than a fringe pick for either side honestly.

Is there such a thing as a centrist to be found these days? Even Kennedy has been blasted since his announced retirement as a "far-right" judge. Fringe is in the eye of the beholder more than ever.

It's like the article writer found every weak point regarding Hillary Clinton and then wrote about Trump, and had her sign off on it.

Kennedy wasn't on the fringe but he certainly wasn't left leaning either. He has certainly fucked the democrats as hard as possible by retiring now and he'll always be remembered for that.

Dems are lucky Ted Kennedy got McCained before it was cool, otherwise he'd be grabbing his crotch and staying silent just as he did during the Thomas hearings.
