Get In the Nightside Eclipse, the album is simply amazing from start to finish. Anthems is very tough to get into although it's probably their most technical release. IX Equilibrium is pretty good and isn't really a black metal album at all. I've yet to hear their latest.

I'm sorry, but In The Nightside Eclipse is terrible!! I bought IX Equilibrium first, then got Anthems, the Prometheus. Love them all for different reasons, but In The Nightside sucks in comparison.

If there's one thing I like about Emperor it's that there's moderation between Ihsahn's uber-homo material, and Samoth's brutal riff based offerings. You lose Samoth, you lose Emperor. Had Ihsahn just decided to toss all this shit into some gay Peccatum or Thou Shalt Suffer song, I wouldn't have a problem with it...but when you put that Emperor label on it (because the last time I checked, Samoth and Trym were members), there are some things to be expected, and it's not The Ihsahn Synth/Keyboard Show.
Oh, and since hyperbolizing shit is all the rave with you, you're a total complete idiot times infinity because you can't spell Ihsahn right. God, are you useful at all?

Ihsahn said himself in interviews that he tried to get Samoth and Trym involved, but they were too busy with Zyklon to be involved in writing another Emperor release. I'm glad Ihsahn took the initiative to complete the writing of the record himself before ending Emperor's career with IX. Do you really think Ihsahn writes music for you and I anyways? He writes for himself and chooses to share it, which is exactly what happened with Prometheus.
And it is possible to make a point in an arguement without ending it with a silly insult like "are you useful"..
And I have to ask the people who praised "Immortal Pride" by Graveland, how could you listen to those totally out-of-time drums? The album was really good and I wanted to keep it, but the drumming was inexcusably badly played. I appreciate the effort to play everything himself, and I really like Darken's Lord Wind stuff, but that Graveland CD has nothing on Emperor as a group. The drumming is just too awful.

Ihsahn can write music for himself in other bands besides Emperor all he wants...hell, that's what these side project bands are all about. Like I said, he could've dumped all that stuff into Peccatum or Thou Shalt Suffer instead of slapping the Emperor logo on some cheesy video game sounding stuff.
And actually, "are you useful at all?" is a satire of that poster--since he likes to hyperbolize over relatively unimportant and subjective shit (ex "You are a complete fucking idiot b/c you said fuck Prometheus"), I upped the ante with something even dumber and called him completely useless because he couldn't spell Ihsahn. Such is the way of mockery.
