I pretty much agree with you on this. Everyone seems to get erect over Insomnium but they don't click with me. It's a similar situation with Opeth... lots of people love them, I don't find them interesting at all. I saw them live and it was one of the most boring experiences of my life.
I expected the burns over Amaranthe, but considering my championing of flower power metal over the years it's pretty consistent with my musical tastes
nobody should be surprised. I listened to Whoracle in its entirety yesterday if that helps.
Two bands in a row. Now he can stop listening to that shitty pop metal band.
I don't like wolfheart. Not bad but they do not reach me.

This new recording is powerful. I like it better than the original but I’m not a hardcore fan of the first few ATG albums before Terminal Spirit Disease. I listen to them once in a while out of curiousity but they never caught hold of me. This version however really makes me want to listen over and over. Very listenable. I’m getting pumped for the new album again.
The first 1:30 of “Raped” could easily be from TJR or Lunar Strain/Subterranean... just a tad darker in tone but still in the same vein. Never really noticed that similarity to early In Flames with the original production. Second half of the song gets darker and more aggressive than In Flames ever tried though.
Also I like how the song structure doesn’t follow verse chorus verse whatsoever. \m/ Hope this recording makes it on the LP at least as a bonus track or something.

New Amorphis song, The Bee. Awesome use of electronics in the beginning and throughout. Another metal band maintaining a high level of artistry. Haven’t kept up with these guys lately but definitely going to give their recent material a spin.

So Come Clarity was for Anders' daughter and HUF for his son. It looks like the son really pulled the crap straw here...
I actually think the lyrics aren't that bad. But I find the musical composition to be probably the most uninspired one on "Battles".

It could of been done better, but I think it's definitely not as bad as people say. There's nothing inherently embarrassing about it.
The lyrics. They're good if you're fifteen and you know shit about being a father so you write some generalities that have heard somewhere else and sound good.
Then the music and vocal melodies are boring, uninteresting and irrelevant. A forgettable song. One of the worst of the album, even if it had some decent non generic lyrics.
